Consistently bad pace of play. All. The. Time.
SSIA.
I should've known better than to play here on a weekend, but I got a good price on the GolfNow app and decided to play. The available tee times that were showing online, made it appear like it would be wide open. It was for the first four holes. Considering that you can see the first three holes from the first tee, I wasn't expecting to hit traffic on the fourth because there was nobody on the first 3. I've never played this course at a decent pace. Today was no different. After the fourth hole, we waited on every tee box. Sometimes up to 20 minutes because the groups in front of us were starting to pile up. There was no ranger. So nobody was trying to push slow groups. How can you not have a ranger on a weekend? This will be the last time I play here unless I start to hear that the pace of play has improved. It's been this bad since the 1990's and I'm baffled as to why I keep going back. The course is ok. Pretty good shape, pretty fun, pretty fair. But if you don't want a 6 hour round, don't play here.
1ST Time at Wallkill
I was impreesed with the course layout as I walked the course .. It was a cold and very windy day and thought it would be a good time to play to see the course.
I think I was the only one who played as I did not see a soul on the course.
The course has lots of water holes. The conditions were very wet and I did the best I could to naviagate the wet conditions. That being said I will definately come back to play as the setting is located in a wooded area and I liked the layout of the holes.
Thank You Walkill!
What can I say? It’s the beginning of February and the weather got up in into the early 50s and Wallkill opened up for us! It’s like icing on the cake! No temporary greens the greens were a bit slow but smooth and the course was in good shape, as far as the Fairways and rough. Just finished and maybe the fact that I shot even par 72 is adding to my mood! Lol just very happy they’re open and I got to play today. Super super fun play with the great guy ex cop named Chris and he took $.50 from me , but it was worth every penny. Thanks Chris and thanks Wallkill had a great great time.
Golf in December
Golfing December, could not, and should not complain. Back 92 boxes, and so so shape with missing markers.
Greens were choppy, but overall satisfactory.
Happy to get out there and play.
Interesting course at Walkill
First time playing the course and it was very enjoyable. Would definitely come back . Staff was helpful and courteous. Catering facility was beautifully decorated for the holidays
Pristine public course
This is a fantastic public course kept in immaculate condition. The last time we played it had rained heavily the day before which made it even more challenging. I would highly recommend this course to anyone in the area.
I would like to play again. On. A day when it hasn't rained days before. This course has holes that are challenging enough to enjoy and make you feel competitive.
