Winding Hills Golf Club
About
Winding Hills Golf Club in Montgomery is a challenging course that will give you some practice with your irons and test your short game skills. This formidable short course is much tougher than it appears. The designer, Steve Esposito, modeled the layout after Jeff Cornish's Blue Rock Course in Cape Cod. The narrow, tree-lined fairways require accuracy. Strategically placed sand traps frame the small greens and several water hazards come into play as well. The holes vary in length and each is unique from one another. You may be surprised to find that you have to use all the clubs in your bag. The ninth hole is arguably Winding Hills Golf Club's toughest. This par 3 requires a long and demanding carry to a green that's sloped back to front.

Great course, little pricy at $30
For the past two years all summer, into the fall, they used to have a sign that read 18 holes with cart $20. Not sure if it was after 4 p.m., or whatever. I believe they need to go back to using those incentives to get me to play there more. Otherwise for $30 I can go up the road and be with my buddies playing elsewhere. Just a thought. Great course, we love it. Thanks
Played after the rain
Started play shortly after the rain stopped. Course was very wet and started showing signs of drying out by the time I finished 16.
Wet conditions
With all the rain recently, the course was understandably cart path only. Under dry conditions the course plays much quicker. Overall, high quality for a reasonable price equals value for the customer.
Wet Friday
Overnight rain and off and on showers during the round made things a little sloppy.
First time at this course
Overall great experience playing this course for the first time. Course in excellent condition, high value for the money spent. Staff friendly and stretched a little thin for a busy holiday weekend. I will play this course again.
Great Time
Every time my son and I go to Winding Hills we have a great and fun day golf.. The course is well maintained and everyone there is very professional.
4th of July Fun
Winding Hills has all the features and amenities of an expensive, full size golf course. Excellent undulating greens, very good playing conditions, challenging holes, golf cart included in price, nice club, bar and pro shop.
Almost all the holes are short par 3 holes, which invites younger players and beginners, along with their playing partners. For this reason, at peak times you can expect a slower pace of play.
With that caveat, I would highly recommend this course. This is by no means an easy golf course that will challenge iron play and putting as much as any course around.
This is far and away the finest short course in the region.
Great day
Dad and I had a great day. The staff was friendly and we always enjoy the course . Very well kept
Always extremely well maintained!!
only good things to say about the course all around. I would recommend checking it out.
Towards the end of season but the course was in great shape as usual. Grass off fairways was a little thick making it hard to find ball at times. Crews busy blowing leaves off course.
Need to tell players when they are aerating the greens
Great value, beautiful little par 3. Great for working on your short game - EXCEPT when you can’t put due to aerating. Please, please please let players know before they book a game at this course.
Great Course; Challenging Greens
WHGC is a great executive course with 3 Par 4s and the rest are Par 3s. The greens are often challenging and getting it close to the pin really matters on several of the greens. The course is very well kept and pleasant to be in its surroundings. The staff is very friendly. The rates are very reasonable. Also a great course to work on your short game.
