Nice course, great price!
The course was beautiful, I wish I had played better, but that is golf. Price was fantastic and I was paired up with two nice guys.
Great service. Disappointed in course conditions.
Upon arriving at the course, we were informed there was shortage of riding carts due to a Women's Invitational. We had paid for 18 holes riding through GolfNow, but were asked if we could walk the front 9, then pick up riding carts at the turn which we did. We would be compensated with passes for a free round at a later date so good on The Brookwoods for their service. Having played here years ago, I was surprised to see a diminished level of maintenance on the course. Especially noticeable were untrimmed weeds and overgrowth around the tee boxes. For the regular rates that the course charges, one would expect a better course presentation. Not all was overlooked as the fairways and greens were in good condition.
Loved it!
Course is in great condition, ladies tee boxes in pretty good shape-love the flowers. Challenging with fast greens.
Love this course
I played with 3 friends on July 10. We all loved the experience. The pace of play was good - just over 4 hours for 18 holes. For the most part, the course was in excellent condition. The fairways were in great condition. the bunkers were well raked and fluffy, the rough was moderate, and the greens well manicured but bit slow for my liking.
Brookwoods
Very well maintained golf course and challenging golf course. Greens were very consistent, intermediate and regular rough were tough but fair. Bunkers all had ample amounts of sand no bare or dry bunkers. Large practice green and nice grass driving range. The course is a very good test for all skill levels you won't be disappointed if you play a round of golf here.
Excellent Experience
I played this course with my father in law during July 4th weekend. Despite the crowd, we played at a good pace. The course was in excellent condition. I wouldn't want to play this course as a novice. I'm a 16 handicap, play around once a week, and I found it pretty challenging. The staff was friendly, the beverage cart found me 4 times during my round, and it was an overall great experience. Compared to other local courses in this price range, this course is tough to beat!
First time golfing the Brookwoods
This is a moderately challenging layout with lots of water and sand. Some of the water is not visible from the tee or the fairway so pay attention to the map. Because of the placement of trees, the course plays like it has more dog-legs than it appears by looking at the map. Overall, the course is very well maintained. The cart paths could use some work as I had to check to make sure my fillings hadn’t fallen out a few times. The greens are slower than what I am used to but they are consistent from hole to hole. The ball rolls true and there were fair pin placements with enough break to make it interesting. The pro shop staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The sign on the first tee recommends anyone shooting 90 or above to play from the white tees. The pro also made this recommendation. I’m glad I listened. Some of the hole signs on the tees could use maintenance. This would be especially useful for those playing the course for the first time who prefer not having to put on glasses to read the map on the score card.
Good golf course
This is a classic style parkland golf course. It was in good shape. The green speed was average, and they rolled true.
Excellent course
This course is an excellent course in good condition. Water with ice was available from the restaurant and it was warm so we needed it. Carts were in good shape with rain covers if needed. And there are a lot of shade trees!
Very good value and challenge
Great classic course within hour drive of Rochester. Challenging layout, especially from the back tees. One of Rochester's top five.
travelng golfer
first time playing.dress warm for weather because of local to lake Ontario. practice putting green was small and located on a hill.kind of a joke actually. front nine is open and long and back nine is narrower and wooded. I may go again to play.
Old World Charm
Played this course with my teenage sons and had a great time. Course was in great shape and was a good test of skill. Lots of sand traps and trees.
Freindly staff; average course
Staff was freindly and accomodating. I played during league night and started at the back 9. Some fairways were patchy. Greens are in good shape.
Fairways were pretty wet, some greens needed work
Great course, one of the most difficult in Rochester area with 132 slope from blue tees. Normally overpriced given location but some offers on Golfnow make it hard not to go.
dusty
fairway and greens are good. but large portion of cart path not paved, really dusty.
A nice course!
Narrow fairways (some of them), woods, water and very challenging greens, everything to have fun.
I recommend that course!
What a good adventure for a Saturday afternoon of golf!!
WE really enjoyed our time on the course. When we got to the course and registerd we were given an additional discount! Very nice surprise. We are not great golfers but ach hole presented its own challenges. The course was well maintained. There was hardly any wait time at the individual holes. The personnel at the course were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it.
Not remotely close to a country club
Course is in the middle of no where, pro shop is in a trailer across from what I would imagine is the old country club clubhouse.
This is one of the very best golf courses in the Rochester area and by far the best value!
This is one of the very best golf courses in the Rochester area and by far the best value! Every hole is unique and challenging, the course is always in great shape, and the staff couldn't be more friendly! This is a must play for any golfer in the Greater Rochester area!
