Reliable and fun
I’ve played BH many times over decades. It has always been in excellent condition. Unfortunately we were rained out after 10 holes, plus a foursome jumped in in front of us and pace of play was shot.
Slow pace, ranger no where to be found
Played Lakeside and Pines on a very hot, humid day. Luckily rode the cart. After 1st hole, we started waiting on the tee box for the group to take their time on the green. On the fairway, few players took their time putting their clubs in the bag and adjusting the bag every time they hit their shot. 2 players were walking on this hot humid day. Blue Hill is a very hilly course. After 9 holes, I complained to the starter who told me to tell the ranger. We did not see the ranger for the entire 9 holes. On the tee box, I spoke to the ranger. However, at that time, the group ahead of this slow group must have stopped in after the nine since the slow group caught up to them. But right after the ranger disappeared, same thing happened and again, no ranger to be found.
Also, the bunkers were in terrible shape. I guess they did not get a chance to fix them after thunderstorm Henry.
Course has a nice layout and it is in decent condition. Very slow greens but I guess that's what happen after much rain. Would not play here again.
Blue Hill GC - Woodlands/Lakeview
Course is in very good shape for as many rounds played on it. Some hills, some water. Sand traps on Lakeview 9 needs work. Played in 4 an a half hours. Very nice course for the $.
Amazing course
Bluehill is great and always in pristine condition recommended to all
Well kept course.
Open fairways are forgiving and greens are challenging providing a good balance.
Woodland = Land of Woods!
27 holes of golf at this course. When we booked 18 through GolfNow they didn't specify which sections we would be playing, but as expected, they told us what sets of 9 we would be playing for that day when we got there (Woodland to Lakeside). The Woodland 9 is definitely in the forest and calls for straight shots. Anything into the forest generally gets lost since there are many tall pine trees close together for the ball to bounce off of in any direction. The Lakeside 9 opened up some more, but still calls for generally straight shots. We played the day after some rain and the course was still a bit damp in spots. But overall the conditions were fine with the exception of the bunkers which were more dirt than sand.
Course was in great shape and the pace of play was adequate. Could have been faster but walkers/beginners out front slowed pace at times.
Blue Hills Pine/Woodlands
The course and greens were in great shape and the first time playing the Woodland section of the course. Would recommend playing this course to anyone.
Quality Courses for the money
3 interesting 9a in great condition and a friendly staff at well prices muni? Such a deal. Fun and interesting layouts. Tree lines fairways, plenty of hills and doglegs to navigate. Greens could be faster but would make some holes really tough and slow down play. A worthy muni tracking the rotation!
