I have been playing here for a number of years. The staff has always been terrific. The course conditions, carts, and care have all improved this year under the new management. Keep up the good work.

I understand why water stations were eliminated during Covid but they need to be restored, especially with the extreme hot weather we have been having which is only expected to get worse.

PLEASE READ: STAFF MANIPULATION
Showed up for a 4:08 tee time with a buddy 45 minutes early and was promised by the starter to get out by 3:45 and was assured I would get 18 in. A foursome with a 4:30 tee time was pushed out on the course at 4:15 having rented 2 bags for 4 players and never having played golf before. An “I don’t know just deal with it,” was the response I got for rightfully questioning why I was being forced to play behind this group even with an earlier tee time. I finally got onto the course by 4:45 and was again promised after 9 holes by the ranger that I would be able to finish 18. At around 7:45 after playing 11 holes and sitting behind another walking foursome (I have a cart) who was pushed out on the 10th hole, I was told carts need to be in and that I was not allowed to walk the rest of the course for the HOUR of remaining sunlight. No sign was posted online nor on the cart barn nor in the clubhouse stating this policy. One of the rangers on the course followed our pace of play to make sure we were not playing through to get 18 in. Saxon woods is cash hungry and manipulates players by forcing everyone they can out on the course without properly managing pace of play and honestly communicating. There have been multiple instances like this where I have received no compensation from them after following through on their false promises of finishing a full round. STAY AWAY!!! Take the extra time to drive up to Mohansic.

Slow Play on a Tuesday.
Be prepared for a slow day, roughly 5 hours to get through 18. This is on a weekday. With the high volume of golfers, it was very difficult for the Rangers to get people moving faster. Everything was wait, hit the ball wait again no establish rhythm. The course is in good shape though and greens average pace.

Staff needs attitude adjustment
Both the pro shop, and the starter need to be more friendly.
For example, I was in the pro shop a phone call came in young lady, picked up the phone the African-American male asked who is it ?she replied some name, he tells her tell him I’m your daddy, this is inappropriate ..
As customers we should not be exposed to this sexual innuendo/joke.
As for the starter very nasty, very abrupt, extremely unfriendly.
Both the pro shop staff and the starter need serious adjustment in customer service.
And keep the sexual innuendos/joke behind the scenes.
As a customers We as golfers should not be exposed to this idiocy…
I hope management reads this and makes a serious adjustment with the staff.

Great Course, Horrible Pace of Play
This is a very nicely maintained muni course in the Westchester County Parks Dept. My friend and I went on what turned out to be the nicest Sunday yet this season, and the course was PACKED. We had two groups ahead of us when our time hit, but then to make matters worse, the starter told another foursome who had missed their earlier time to tee off before us. We teed off about 25 minutes late, and then the 18 hole round took 5.5 hours. Pretty Brutal.
