Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

Challenging course
I always enjoy playing here even if I am in over my head. Greens and fairways in excellent condition. No water hazards but lots of hills and turns
Poor management
I’m a member of a private club and I will never come back to this course after the way I was treated by the staff, complete fail
We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with our staff. We appreciate your feedback and will address this matter internally. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
Plan for 6 hours on the weekends
Had a later tee time, didnt tee off until about 10 minutes after our tee time was and we were constantly waiting on 2 groups in front of us. Tee times need to be spread out more. 18 holes took 6 hours to complete. I had to leave after 12 holes to be somewhere but my playing partner didnt finish until 5.5 hours after our scheduled time. The course is great and id love to play it again on a weekday but never coming back here on a saturday/sunday
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with our tee times and the pace of play. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back on a weekday.
Hot day slow play
90 + degrees extremely slow play no water on course

Mid-season Improvement
Played in April and found the course conditions lacking. Kudos to the grounds crew for greatly improving the condition of the course. Always like the layout. Unfortunately, the pace was slow. Our round took over 5 hours.
Fine course…overpriced for the condition
While it is always fun to experience a new course for the first time this will also most likely be my last round at Smithtown Landing. To start I would like to say everyone from my fellow round mates to the clubhouse staff were beyond friendly and overall had a fun day on the course.
The round itself started slightly late and was slow for the first 9 until things opened up on the back. Round time was about 5 hours. The tee boxes were all over the place often pointed diagonally at the hole with significant pitch. Good shots and bad shots alike would end up on the “first cut” which was more like deep sloped rough. The greens played impossibly fast and everything slid right off. Green fringe was a mix of weeds and dirt.
The overall condition of the course left much to be desired and while the seemingly short par 4s seemed like great scoring opportunities the conditions dictated otherwise.
Overall very nice people but for a $80 round I was expecting a better track.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience. We apologize that the conditions of the course did not meet your expectations and that the round was slow for the first 9 holes. We are happy to hear that you found our staff to be beyond friendly and appreciate your feedback about the tee boxes, rough, and greens.
Thank you for sharing your feedback about our business. We apologize if the pace of play was slower than expected and if the greens were not up to your satisfaction. We appreciate your review and will take your comments into consideration to improve our services.
