Improved a lot over the years
They put a lot of money into this place to make it as nice as it is, and it shows. Good course conditions and a really nice clubhouse with good food and drink. Fun island hole, some other weird holes on the back 9. Gets wet in the spring and is very windy there up on a big hil
We have had a LOT of rain here in CNY this spring. Vesper Hills is located well above Owasco Lake. There were still some damp spots, and some areas where the carts were not permitted to go due to the ground being so soft. But overall, the course was in very good shape. The rough was a bit deeper than usual as the mowers have had a tough time getting around.
Tough but fun
Greens were aerated earlier in the week, making putts unpredictable. Otherwise it was a great day to play. Some of the Par 4's are 400+ yds, making it tough for intermediate players. Greens are usually very good and true. Some water/sand, but avoidable once you know the course.
Great course. Tough for medium level players as many of the par 4's are 400+ yds. Nice view of the lake from the 17th fairway.
FIRST TIME PLAYED THIS COURSE, IMPRESSED WITH
EVERY ASPECT, BACK NINE MORE DIFFICULT. ENJOYED EVERY HOLE. GREAT SCENERY IN ADDITION. COMING BACK,THANKS.
Very nice course, has only gotten better over the years. Rolling hills with scenic views. Fairways and greens in great shape. Fantastic clubhouse with excellent restaurant.
Great golf course
Had a wonderful time, course was in great shape and the weather was awesome
The course plays two distinct nines, it is pretty obvious that they were built around 15 years apart. Front nine is fairly flat with some nice forced water carries, reasonable bunkering, and open fairways. Your front nine misses are generally not harshly penalized. you play on top of a large hill so the wind is active, until you play 11-15. The back nine is much more topographically interesting, very hilly. A bad shot leads to drastically uneven lies. Greens are fast but the break is generally apparent, nothing too dramatic or unfair. Length doesn't prevent shorter hitters from succeeding.
Fun course, fantastic price for the conditions.
Vesper is great
Played with another single because we got held up after 7 holes with traffic. Slowed rest of round.
Course was mint. Top of hill with lots of wind. Greens were great. Will play again when in the area.
Nicest course around
This is truly a great golf experience. The course is in great shape considering all the rain we have had this summer. Grass is well mowed and greens are fast. The back 9 of this course is a real challenge but very interesting. The restaurant is also great. Overall a great value for the money.
A good challenge for the best of golfers. Great fairways, fast greens, and sandy bunkers.
It was the first time my wife and I had played Vesper Hills. We played from the red tee boxes and found this course to be quite the challenge. A beautiful course that offered a beautiful view of Otisco lake as well as the surrounding hills and trees. As it was a busy day, pace of play was slow. Would like to recommend that water coolers be added to the course. Will play here again.
Played in foursome and pace of play was very good. Greens were true. Course challenging enough for the men in our group but fair to women. After round had wonderful dinner in restaurant. Fish fry was great and seafood chowder was outstanding. Great value
