Best Greens in UNY
This is absolutely a hidden gem amongst Upstate New York golf courses. You have two types of courses in one stop here. The front nine is narrow and precise, and the back is long and wide open. With no sand traps and only a couple of water hazards you may think this course looks easy on the outside. But once you start playing you realize that you have to use every club in your bag. The greens are the highlight of the experience here; they are fast and consistent.
The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The clubhouse is a great value without all of the "golf course" markup. The food is delicious and served promptly, and the staf is always willing to talk.
If you love golf this is a must play.
Very rude and disrespectful owner and poor course conditions
The course is poorly maintained with very uneven fairways filled with pot holes and drainage ditches. The course is also littered with leaves and dandelions, making it difficult to find balls that were hit into open clearings. The golf cart paths also were littered with pot holes and poorly maintained. Yardage markers are also very difficult to see and some holes don't even have markers despite being 400 yards to the tee. To top it off, the owner was very rude and disrespectful upon paying for our round of 9 as he gave us a hard time and a poor attitude by accusing us of bringing alcohol to the course the previous week when mountain dew was the only thing in our carts, which is not against policy as it was not alcohol. He followed this accusation with a smart comment flaunting how nice he was to provide free memberships to my father and his co-workers for losing their jobs recently and said that as a result, we should follow his course policies, which in fact were following the whole time.
