short and fun course
VERY APTLY NAMED. A THOUSAND HILLS. MY WIFE QUIT AFTER 15 HOLES. SHE JUST COULDN'T CLIMB ANOTHER HILL.
Fun course, 1000 hills, trees, hazards, tight, some blind shots, par 64 (not short when you consider par)
I really enjoyed the course. Even though it is only a little over 5000 yds, a par 64 makes it challenging.
this course is in the best condition and great stafe
I would play this course any time I had a chance the greens were in great shape
Great course...would play again
Yes, there are thousands of hills, very beautiful setting . A lot of par 3's.
I liked the redesign that was made since I last played the course, with what used to be a difficult hole #3 now being played as #10.
The course was in excellent condition, and the pace of play was very good because the tourism season has wound down some. I found the course to be less frustrating by changing the layout to make the previous #3 hole now #10. It seems to make more sense now, and allows people to settle in to their game before the challenging, but fun #10 hole. I plan to play it much more now because of their changes.
Short 18 hole course and no driving range.
It's not difficult course but I don't like the layout and too close to the condo. It's OK as a community course but I would play here again when I travel.
Substandard course....too many par 3's and only one par 5.
Substandard course....too many par 3's and only one par 5.
THOUSAND HILLS SHOULD BE TWO THOUSAND HILLS!!
FUN COURSE BUT THEY HAD A LOT OF RAIN THE WEEK WE GOT THERE AND CART PATH ONLY. WE ARE NOT USE TO CLIMBING ALL THOSE HILLS IN TEXAS! VERY SCEANIC THOUGH AND STAFF FRIENDLY AND ACCOMMODATING.
This course is a blast!
From start to finish this course kept me on my toes. Each hole has its own character and challenges. With nine par 3's mixed in with the par 4's and five, this course tests all of your skills.
Cart path only?
This course is hilly. Thus the name. I would not recommend this course on "cart path only" days. We were exhausted by the third hole. It made it more difficult when the GPS was not working and the drink person told us it was new and not yet fully installed. However, when we got done, they told us it was working perfectly. Bad experience. Might like to try it again on a non "cart path only" day and with a working GPS.
Fun course when played under normal conditions
Lots of rain resulted in course being cart path only. Very hilly course to walk. Shorter course but challenging par 3's.
Green, but work to do.
The course is green, but some aspects of the course need help. I understand all the water there has been here, but you have to take better care of the sand (there is none in the traps, mostly rock and mud), and you have to cut the greens once in a while.... Good value for the buck, great staff, just a shame that the course is not better tended. Having trouble getting folks on the course because of the ridiculous cart paths.
Great Course and a bit tricky.
This course is not all that long, only 4500 yds from the white tees but it will make you play planned shots. An example is number one. If you hit the ball down the middle, your shot could end up in the left rough or in the creek. This hole slants to the left and the creek, so you have to play right in order to bounce your ball off the right hand hills and back into the fairway. There are 9 par 3's, 8 par 4's and one par 5 on this par 64 course. Each shot has to be planned out or you could end up in major trouble.
Course is great but access to greens and tee boxes is very difficult for seniors and handicapped golfers.
Thousand Hills is great for the younger generations but the arrangement of the cart paths in regards to the tee boxes and greens makes it almost impossible to finish 18 holes for seniors or handicapped golfers. Even though the fairways are open to carts when weather conditions allow, the walk up and down the hills to the tee boxes and greens makes it very fatigueing and calls for more exertion than most seniors and handicapped people are in possession of. Don't play this course very ofter due to the above listed reasons.
Par 3 heaven
The course has 9 par three's, but they are challenging enough to maintain a normal pace of play. Beautiful valley setting in the heart of Branson. The course is very well maintained and has a well stocked pro shop with more than fair prices. We will definitely be coming back again and again.
not just the name it has lots of hills!!!
lot of fun to play, take extra balls every hole has a great view
The name is accurate. It is a little short and hilly.
There are very few flat places on this course. There are blind greens and creeks therefore the course guide is valuable.
Nice course, friendly staff.
This course has a lot of hills, as the name implies. It is a bit short at par 64 with a quite a few par 3's. It was well kept though and the staff was very friendly. Also, thru GolfNow is was very affordable.
Love the undulation of the fairways
Very beautiful, picturesque scenery. the greens looked great, the fairways were in good shape. The bunkers were not so great. but who cares, I never got in one.
A short course, but a very good challenge!
The Thousand Hills Golf Course is labeled an Executive Course because it only has 1 Par 5, 8 Par 3 holes, and 9 Par 4 holes. The course plays tough because it is very well designed to challenge all levels of golfers. Take your best game with you when you play Thousand Hills. The staff was great, the conditions were very good, and the greens putted very true.
