Enjoy!
My favorite course in Rochester. Well kept, with challenging greens and hazards. A couple of tough holes that once you par them, you realise it can be done. The best cheeseburger you’ll ever have while making the turn.
Best Public Course
Course was in amazing shape. Greens are on par with all private country clubs I have played this year in surrounding areas. What a pleasure to play!
Excellent course, friendly staff
Golf course is always pristine. Extremely friendly staff. Best golf course in Rochester hands down. Awesome food at Stoney's Pub. Great value.
Hidden Gem
Course is always in great shape, expanding pro shop, bar and restaurant and lots of practical changes to course. Played in a bunch of tournaments there and they are very well run. Amazing public course!
The Links at Greystone is a Beautiful Course!
I have had the opportunity to play The Links at Greystone several times now this season. The course is by far my favorite within the area. Every time I step foot on the course I often say to myself "This is Beautiful". In my opinion what sets The Links apart from other courses in the area are the following 1.) The upkeep of the course and pro-shop areas 2.) The equipment (Golf Carts) are always clean and fully functional, 3.) The professionalism of the owners and staff is second to none.
I look forward to many more rounds this season. Keep up the great work!
This place is the best.
If you are looking for a challenging layout and some of the most beautiful views in Upstate NY, then this is the place for you. The course is always in prime condition and the staff is second to none. Best of luck on #11. She’s a beaut.
great experience - top to bottom
great course...professional staff....great bar and restaurant
Spectacular!!!
This course is the best public course in the area! From the warm greeting in the Pro Shop to the breakfast sandwich made specifically for you at the first hole and on to the course. Both challenging and fun. Particularly the vista on the 5th hole and finishing across the pond. Enjoy lunch on the patio looking down on the double green serving the 9th and 18th. Enjoy!!!
Best public golf course in Rochester!
Very scenic course with challenging greens. The Clubhouse has a beautiful new patio overlooking the water and massive double green - fun to watch other golfers attempt their approach shots over the water!
We had drinks and food at Stoney's Pub after and thoroughly enjoyed the setting and service.
One of the best, if not the best, in the area!
Challenging Links Style Course
Outstanding Greens and varied hole designs make this an outstanding and enjoyable Golf Experience. A variety of tees also makes this challenging for different levels of players. Pro Shop, on-course service and Bar-Restaurant make this a must play destination for everyone in Upstate New York.
Great Course/fair price/convenient location
The course looks and feels like you’re playing overseas. The greens fees are incredibly fair. We met some folks who came and played the course from other countries because they had heard about the fair pricing and course quality from others. The location is conveniently located east of Webster. The back roads make for a quick and scenic drive there! Awesome staff, great pro shop and even better restaurant and bar!
Love the course!
The course has an excellent layout. The fairways and greens were in great condition for it being so early in the season. It's a unique layout which keeps it fun.
A Gem
Very challenging in a fair manner and extremely scenic. One of the best in the area, whether public or private. New ownership has and is taking it to new levels. Play it once and you will be hooked!!
World-class public course minutes from Rochester, NY
This is an incredible public course with dramatic changes in elevation, generous fairways and challenging greens. The clubhouse and setting are more like a private club; but the staff in the pro shop and Stoney's pub are down-to-earth friendly.
I highly recommend this course for locals and out-of-town visitors. You won't be disappointed.
One of the best in Rochester, NY!
I would have given this course 4 1/2 stars because a couple of its greens are severe. I would use the term 'tricked up' meaning you will never see this amount of undulation on any golf course the pros play.
Certainly not at famed Oak Hill East in Rochester, NY, site of the U.S. Open, PGA etc.
(Also, there is no 1st and 2nd cut of rough around the greens like there is at Ravenwood.)
The 5th green is the worst offender.
It makes me wonder - did they just give the guy on the bulldozer free rein when this course was built?
Pin positions are close to impossible.
The following is from the club's own website: "Architect Craig Schreiner shaped massive greens with multiple tiers and wild swinging breaks."
Wild indeed!
That said, this course has a lot to offer.
The view from the 5th tee is worth the price of admission!
The approach on the 18th over water to a shared green (with the 9th hole) is both stunning and terrifying at the same time.
In the clubhouse, the 19th hole is designed in the manner of a Scottish pub. You can have lunch or dinner here. Very nice!
There is also a large outdoor patio overlooking the signature 18th hole.
The $40 rate was fall/weekend afternoon.
Summer weekend rate is $65 before Noon.
If I had to pick the top public courses to play in the Rochester, NY area, I would rate them:
1. Ravenwood
2. Greystone
3. Blue Heron
4. Mill Creek
