Tough course
Course plays long. Very hilly. Tough is extremely thick.
Hickory Hill Challenging Course
I’ve played Hickory Hill several times in last couple years and I look forward to returning. Challenging course with many factors that test a players ability to adapt to varied terrains. The staff here is always kind to those that patronize this course. Beautiful year round, but especially in the fall. Mountain Views surround many of the holes. As Arnold Schwarzenegger says, “I’ll be back!”
Cold doesn’t matter!
Great golf, if you don’t mind the cold. The fairways are very clean despite leaves a-blowin. Thank you grounds team! Staff are the friendliest folk you’ll meet on any course.
Excellent course!
You will never find holes so different from one another…. And the views of the hillside is spectacular.
Wet mountain course
The course look beautiful driving up to it. Was cart path only never play this course if it's cart path only cuz the car pass or way away from where you would normally hit the ball. After roughly a week of dry weather this course was still wet and not draining. The rough was so thick you could hardly find your ball if you hit into it. The dry grass that they had mowed the rough was still in the rough almost impossible to find your ball. The pizza place on the front nine was absolutely about the worst I've ever had. Finally a few people didn't play 18 holes we had about five holes that was fairly decent. Trying to find your ball even though you know where to hit it was almost impossible. I think I came out just about even on balls found in balls lost because I found other people's balls in the rough. Other than getting a decent rate on golf now I don't know if I will ever go back to the course.
Excellent course and great views.
Excellent challenge.
nice course - what I saw of it
1st time playing this course with my son on Saturday in dense foh. A big shout out to our playing partner Bob who guided us around. Couldn't see anything past 150 yards and at times 100 yards and there is tons of local knowledge so Bob really helped us out. The course is seemingly wide open but fairways, because of the slopes are not easy to hit. As mentioned, the fun really starts on the greens which are not very big and have tons of slopes. Heavy rain the night before keep the green speeds at bay but they would have been a nightmare if dry and fast
Course was in great shape. Greens were extremely undulating - took a while to get use to them. Only drawback was a lack of visible course markers - recommend bringing a range finder next time. Well worth the drive.
