Fairways were pretty rough shape. Greens were in better shape that fairways. Course has seen better days.
Poor layout without signs
The holes themselves are unique and the greens were in good condition.
That being said, the cart paths were falling apart. Massive potholes everywhere and the concrete was crumbling in spots. There were next to no directional signs, hole signs, etc. As a first time player here, it was very confusing.
Several holes where you are hitting towards another tee box or green with nothing to block stray shots. I can only imagine the pace of play here on a busy day with everyone being afraid of hitting someone.
Poorly marked course with little to no signage. No water available on course. Golf carts not equipped with club or ball cleaners. I've played at better for less money.
Lots of trees little shade
You would think for being a forest course surrounded by trees that there would be shade but there was so little shade and it was 96° outside
Very Fun Course
First time playing Paradise Valley, but I had a great time doing so. Wide variety of holes some challenging some not so much. Greens were in good condition. Cart path was a little rough in certain areas, but other than that I really had no complaints. Fun course that I will likely be returning to at some point.
Not Oatadise
Course was dry, had lots of leaves and was windy the entire round, people don’t know how to fix their divots and due to fall the voyage was extremely dry, not worth the money this time of year
In all my time golfing, I have never felt as disrespected and annoyed as today.
To start the course seemed to be majorly overbooked for morning tee times. This was acceptable, to an extent, for being a Sunday but 2.5 hours on the front nine is hard, nay impossible to defend with this course. At the turn, a foursome in front of us dropped down to a two. We decided to pass, though we were a four, but hadn't expected our random two addition to our tee time to follow us. All was fine with players ahead of the two we passed, they even aencouraged us to tee off before them at the next box. It became an issue when a 20 something year old "marshall" decided to voice his "opinion" that it was poor golf etiquette and improper of us to speed up pace of play and to pass the slower players, as is stated on their score cards even. He continued to voice that we were in the wrong until finally leaving in a passive aggressive manner. We then, after some discussion, decided to leave.
I cannot understand how our pace of play issue EVER needed to be addressed to us and not the players ahead of us. The next three holes had not a single person playing them as we drove back to the parking lot.
Needless to say I nor my teammate will ever return to play this course.
Fix your issues.
