Nice Water Views
Nice Water Views, went just after they removed most of the reeds/tall grasses for the season. Enjoyed the scenery, although it was very windy.
Not bad
Overall we had a good day. The cart path needs to be fixed there’s a lot of potholes and it would’ve been nice if they had a cart girl. The layout of the course was nice and it’s nice and open so it’s hard to loose balls.
Glad I Choose It...Bergen Point GC
Realizing, after I got on the road, that it would take me nearly 2 hours to get to a golf course that was only 44 miles away from my Manhattan apartment, I am still happy I booked and played a round at Bergen Point GC on Long Island. With views of the bay and course playing moderately difficult, it was a good challenge for this high handicap player. Course was in good condition, the greens were running fast and the tee boxes were in great shape. With some holes playing longer because of some breeze in the face, it made me have to re-think some tee shots. And if you hit it in the rough in some places, all you could do was hit it back into the fairway. So in some places it was really penalizing if you missed the fairway. Overall a great round of golf.
One of my Favorites
I always enjoy playing here. It comes closest to approximating conditions in southwest Florida without the Bermuda grass. But the water and wind remind me of play down there.
Day after heavy rain.
As most people know playing this course after having heavy rain the day before is not a great idea. They let the carts out but there were puddles everywhere. Greens were in very good shape, and the fairways that weren’t under water were fine. People are always nice there. Was a fun day!
