Decent course
The course is filled with a variety of holes--short and long par 3's, with par 4's and 5's that may test longer hitters even. Decent shape for so early in the year. Basically, it will be a good course for most of us sometime hackers out there, and it offers good play for the $$ spent.
Love GLKC
I love what GreatLife is doing for golf! This course is improving rapidly and will continue to do so.
Fast and friendly
I’ve played royal meadows several times this year. Course is always in good condition. Staff treats you like your there friend. Course is challenging but leaves you still loving the game. I say play ift if you want a round in 3 1/2 hours or less that’s fun and fair priced
Its a GLKC Course What do You Expect TP Sawgrass LOL
Waaaaay Overbooked and No Marshalls and Once again a Ruined Course by GLKC!!!! What a Shame!!! Seems like LACK OF MONEY TO MOW! Used to be a Nice Course a Long Long Time ago! PU!!!!
WHAT NO GRASS MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I STEPPED IN SOMETHING BAD
USE TO BE A GREAT FUN SHORT LITTLE COURSE AND WHAT A SHAME GL BOUGHT IT!!! JUST SAYIN!!!
Love This Course Except for the Fairways
Most of the fairways are strips.
Other than that, the greens were in great shape and it's a fun course.
Nice course for price paid
Course is in much better shape than the last time I played it a year ago. Fairways are really coming together nicely. You can still obviously tell that the fairways were re-sodded, as the lines down the middle are quite obvious. There are still some spots where the grass has not grown in yet. Greens were in decent shape, although someone mowing the greens leaked oil on about 5 holes. There are noticeable oil streaks running across the greens, which is a shame. The marshall was friendly and apologetic for the slow play. There were multiple foursomes in front of us, and pace of play was rather slow, but could not be avoided. I really appreciated that the marshall informed us of what was going on ahead, and he apologized for the slow play. Most marshalls at other courses just wave and keep going, without letting you know what's going on. Overall, this is a great course and a good value for the money paid.
Church Pew's of KC
This course currently is in the top 3 worst in the Kansas City area. This course has it's own version of the Church Pew's at Oakmont, only it's the fairways. A lot of fairways have alternating stripes of dead/alive grass down them. There was no advance warning. A little signage before the first tee would make me feel like they care about the customer. Some greens are good. Some are very weedy and bouncy. In all honesty, they should just take the Royal out of the name, and bring the sheep and cattle back and just go back to being a meadow. Go to Swope Memorial.
Great Value!
Went out golfing with my uncle visiting from California. Great course, greens were a little weedy but maintained. The fairways seemed under construction, but overall we had a great time and enjoyed playing this course. We would go back for another round!
Coming right along
Thank goodness GreatLife is here to improve this wonderful golf course. Fairways are coming along nicely!
Disappointed
Royal Meadows needs some grooming. Goat ranch comes to mind. Tee boxes are bare. Greens still have bumps from aeration and fairways are stripped for I guess trying to fill in bent grass. Water the course!
Good Course
Decent old style course. Has a few long holes, but most are fairly short and reachable. A good, old-style course, lots of rolling hills. Sand is in good condition and so were the greens. Tee boxes were in bad shape - mostly dirt and fairways were striped with grass and dirt - so not in great shape. A good value for the money.
