Hilly with great views!
Cool, private course that public can book online. Note it is in a gated community to make sure to call Pro Shop for gate code.
Course is challenging with lots of elevation change and many blind spots. Requires some thought off the tee to place shot in fairway rather than blast away. Greens were a little fuzzy and slow.
Overall a good challenge
Beautiful mountain course
The course is relatively difficult with narrow fairways and greens. The tees were in rough shape and the greens were very slow but we had lots of rain and they may not have mowed for a few days.
1st time here w/ new owners
First time here in probably 4 years. They are doing some remodeling so I had a hard time finding the clubhouse. I went to the old clubhouse and didn't pay attention to the signage. Look for the sign and you will get to the clubhouse. Most fairways are in decent shape. Some are still being fixed. The greens are awesome. You can tell that they are putting sweat equity into the course. There are a few holes that are extremely tight. Some that are wide open. Some holes you need to be strategic and some that you can grip and rip. This is definitely a course I will play again
Will be a gem
You can tell this course was not taken care of for a while. We loved the layout of the course. The tee boxes need a lot of work. Greens were soft and slow. Fairways were decent but need a little time to fill in. You can definitely tell they are working on the it. Very nice views. Need some more signage around the course. A few times we felt like we were driving through the community randomly. Overall, this course will be nice in a couple years. Decent now as long as your expectations arent over the moon
Nice to have another course to play
Greens are all new. Great shape. Need to be rolled. Some of the tee boxes need work. Fairways are thin in spots, good for a roll if you get the right one :) Overall I liked it and will be back as they seem to be doing more improvements. Views!!!
A gem in North Carolina
I was extremely pleased with Chestnut Mountain, beautiful course, with a great design, and many vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Looking forward to returning to play again.
Coming back
After being closed for a while it was nice to play the course again. Conditions appear to be improving , but we all know that's a process. I hope the new ownership is successful, it's a fun course to play and has some fantastic views. Please trim the vegetation between the landing areas on hole 13. That hole is hard enough as it is.
A Challenging Mountain Course
The course was not busy which allowed for a speedy round, but without GPS it was difficult to know the direction of the holes and distance with no course yardage markers. Also, some tee boxes were difficult to locate. Fairways were mowed nicely and some bunkers were eliminated and marked as ground under repair. If you are looking for a challenge and an inexpensive round give the course a try.
Mostly the course was in good shape. Some fairways were very shaggy on a couple of holes. The greens were very slow and the rough was very high. Beautiful setting.
Fun day
Fun day over the holiday weekend. Priced fairly, looks like the course is finally getting some much needed TLC
Tough course
Excellent greens, not much flat terrain and the rough just off of fairways was difficult making it very challenging to score well.
Staff was very friendly. There are still some improvements being made to some tee boxes but it is a fun and challenging round.
We will play there again.
Early morning round.
I took my son to play a round for his BIRTHDAY. The course was in great shape. The staff was very friendly. Play went smoothly. The snack bar was closed that day, so that's the only thing I wasn't pleased with. Overall rating was FIVE stars.
Nice round
out as a single - joined up with one other golfer - we had a great round. Course gave us both a little challenge and forced us to play golf! Strategy in club selection etc. Nice round.
Great Course
Awesome time playing this course.
