Pleasant suprise
Started by myself and met up with a guy on the second hole that had played there before. It was my first time. The greens are small but quite smooth. Very inexpensive to play and the course was in pretty good condition. Staff is very informative and a pleasure to talk to . Definitely adding this to my list of courses in Randolph County to play.
This course has potential
Several greens need lots of work. With some TLC this could be a profitable golf course. Have played Uwharrie many times over the years and it can be a bit challenging if you miss your drive. Overall I would recommend this to beginners or for someone looking to get some practice shots in. Driving range needs numbered yard markers instead of just flags order to help dial in your club range.
Relaxing and uncrowded
If you're looking for a good time on a playable course, here it is.
The front nine is basically a cow pasture course but the back nine has a lot of narrow fairways and dog legs. The greens were in good shape though a touch long. (a month ago, I wouldn't have paid to play again if the price wasn't right) There is really no fringe and the fairways were hard as rock. It is not unreasonable to put from 30 feet off the green.
This course is not a picture of beauty or some kind of nightmare challenge but a laid back good time with a wide open front nine anyone can have a good score on and a back nine that only hinders those of us all over the place.
Nice little country course
I have played this course many times over the years. The greens need a lot of work, but looked much better than the last time I played there, about 2 months ago. They seem to be trying to make the greens better. The front nine is pretty flat and wide open, but the back nine has some ups and downs and is tight in places. It's a nice course to play once in a while.
Wouldn't pay full price to golf here
Thankfully I got a great deal online because I would pay full price to golf here. Absolute terrible maintenance or lack there of I should say, really shotty greens, rough cart paths and just overall run down.
Terrible conditions
This was a course I played growing up. Used to be very reasonable prices and decent course conditions. The course now has no to very little maintenance. Fairways are horrible, greens are worse. One can pay the same amount a play a very good course. If you are thinking about playing here in the near future, you might as well go to a cow pasture and chip around. I honestly used to love playing here, but now you could not pay me to come back.
Great value!
Love this course! It is a great place to just enjoy the game. Not fancy or high class, just open and out in the country. My kind of course!
Good Course in the Country
This course is an excellent value, overall very nice. Well worth a GolfNow Hot Deal.
Not a choice course
The course was flooded in places due to being in a low-lying area and recent heavy rains. It made the course a muddy mess which should have been noted before golfers booked tee times. There was no discernible cart path on the front nine. The front nine was wide open fairways but there weren't any indicators of where each tee boxes were in relation to the last green which made finding the tee boxes difficult. The back nine was more challenging to actually play and actually had more of a cart path or general direction in which to find the next tee box until hole 18. No markers or signs pointing out the tee box left me frustrated and confused which in turn affected my game.
I would not recommend this course to even the worst golfer I know.
nice course
the course was great for the money. It had no sand traps at all. front nine was wide open. It had a few water features. the lay out was a little confusing the first time. the back nine was a challenge with lots of water that comes in to play. and tight far ways. when we went had rain a lot the past few days so the front nine was water logged so do not go when there has been a lot of rain. But it was a fun course.
Love the back 9
Slightly confusing layout. No sand. Front 9 is wide open but the back makes up for it. Small greens. There was a foursome in front of us that refused to let anyone play through but the management at the course changed that pretty quick. Fun course, interesting holes. Played a little short, if you are a big hitter you can hit the par 4s with a solid drive. We will be back.
Best shape I've seen Uhwarrie in quite a long time.
The course was in nice shape. Greens are filling in well and fairways are looking good as it warms up. For an average course it's a real good play. The only negative was the manager was a bit short with us about the Golf Now discount.
