Course good but no one monitoring speed of play
Liked course but some people playing should let faster players play through. A group in front of us was so slow had everybody behind waiting and no one in front of them for 2 holes. No one to speed up play. On weekends especially.
too many 5sums
pace of play slow,,,too many 5sums playing,,,slow play down a lot,,rocks in bunkers,,no sand
Always nice, great value
Course was in good condition, smooth greens, staff always great. Back tees make it a good challenge
course was in fine shape
the greens was as good as i played all year and the fairways had grass
love this course
This is one of my "go to" golf courses. It is challenging but not difficult. I am just a scratch golfer but just recently shot my best game here. Just an overall fun course and lots of nice people.
Always fun to play
This is a fun, challenging course, & great value. Somewhat out of the way but worth the drive. Hole #11 is on of the most interesting & challenging holes you'll find. You need a good drive to setup a blind shot to the green, fun hole.
Good for the price.
Wish fairway were cut a little lower but otherwise in decent shape.
Well-kept, bad design
The greens were pretty dang good, especially for the price of the course. The front side was great. The back nine is without a doubt the goofiest 9 holes I've ever played. A shame for what it could be.
Excellent greens
The course layout is a little more demanding than my game can stand. The greens were in great shape, the fairways were average and the rough was very thick (rough can be as thick as the course desires - some places were almost impossible to escape but punishment for missing the fairway is to be expected). It is not a course I would play on a regular basis, but I will enjoy it on the rare occasion I find myself in the area.
Silo Run
Silo Run is a great golf course for beginners to intermediate level golfers. If your expecting fancy do not come here but if your looking for a good golfing experience and not have to take a small loan out to play this is this place for you! The course is in pretty good shape of the time of year. The few sand bunkers that are still left could use some major work!
Silo Run RUN RUN and don't look back!
Course average (at best). Facilities DISGUSTING . Staff grumpy. Food sketchy. Carts barely able to keep up in them thar hills!
It was pretty awful. For the money, there are dozens of better choices in the area, so drive on to the next course.
nice layout
Let me start by if you want pga tour quality dont do this course. If you are looking for a nice round of golf then this is the place for you. Fairways and tees where not the greatest but greens were awesome. Layout of the course was very good. Staff treated us great it was like they appreciated my business and cause of that i reward courses by coming back again and again. So i recommend this course to everyone but you must have a open mind that you payed a great price and it was not 100.00
Nice Course
Very good course for the price. Friendly service. Would be a nice learning course.
Great day at Silo Run
The course and playing conditions were great. My only complaint was that when I arrived the course had no record of my registering to play. Golfnow did not send the course the paperwork showing that I had scheduled and paid for a tee time. I had to long onto my email account to verify it. Once verified my group and I were able to play. The staff were very helpful with this matter.
course in repair but worth the money
this was long course, very little good grass in the fairways, worth the money for under $20. First course that told me there were issues with the course when I called and asked. Wish more courses would be honest like that and reduce their price when their course in repair.
Silo Run
Fairways and tee boxes are in horrific shape, basically no water left in any of the ponds or creeks. First time coming here in a few years, this is the driest I've ever seen it! Greens rolled great though!
Great course if you bring own water
Last year they had water in coolers periodically on the course. They've taken all coolers out. Rumor is...because the teenagers they had working for them wasn't cleaning them properly. Not a very good excuse if you ask me. I'm pretty sure people would pay few more bucks a round for cold water. Hire responsible people. How hard is that??
The greens are good BUT... read on.
I have played this course since it opened and this is absolutely the worst the fairways have ever looked. I know that several courses had some trouble with Winter kill but I did not see any work being done to get the fairways back up to decent conditions. the tee box on #9 was the only one with decent grass coverage as well. As I said though, the greens are in very good to excellent shape. The carts are dilapidated, the men's restroom is in disrepair and there was a dog laying on the floor at the only inside table where one could sit and have lunch. It is sad to see the overall conditions compared to where this course was just a couple of years ago. It does not make me happy to write this negative review but I would not be honest if I said anything else.
Ryan Myers
Course was in bad shape. Many tee boxes had no grass at all. The greens, oddly enough, were immaculate and true. Staff was friendly. Pace of play slow due to foursome in front was inexperienced and obviously receiving lessons from the senior player, otherwise pace was good. Will return in the future, hopefully the course will be in better shape, it is definitely a challenging course. You will only use driver a few times from the white tees.
Solo Run
Great day for early spring.
Good greens, smooth surfaces.
Fairways clean from leaves and debris and in good shape.
Drawbacks: super long and cold winter has left greens and fairways in great need of aeration. While still smooth they are coarse
