I allying through the leaves
Course needed some attention.Too many leaf piles all over including in bunkers. Greens aerated so no true roll on the greens. Some greens chewed up and many full of divots. Cart patch only is not necessary on many holes. Tee boxes were fine but bare spots in the fairway.
Out of control tournament players clogging course
Waited almost one hour for 10th tee finally left and went home
Forest Park
Course is overrated and average at best . Seems like half of the course is roped off and cart path only which leads to a very slow round. Supposedly sold out but no ranger or starter which let a foursome in front of and behind our foursome break up into 2 threesomes and 2 singles . Pace of play has always been an issue
Great golf outing
Great (3)9-hole course layout set in the middle of a metropolis with beautiful views of residential mansions, consumer traffic and park patrons exercising.
Not Terrible, Not Great
Tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers were in good shape. Pace of play was unbearably slow, 2-3 groups backed up on every tee. Greens are also terrible at the Forest Park courses. More divots on each green than most courses have in their entirety. Impossible to putt because of it. At $30 for 9 holes, not great value all things considered.
Great value
You know what you are getting with this course. Nice easy layout, urban setting, conditions OK but fine for the fee.
Favorite course In town
Course is very well kept for a municipal course. Sometimes gets crowded but that’s just a testament to its location, quality and demand. Strong golfers can score low here and high handicappers get plenty of forgiveness for missed shots. Highly recommend.
Too Many Cart Path Only Holes
Played Redbud and Dogwood. Too many holes roped off. If you walked with a cart, there were very few spots wide enough to pull a cart through. Port-a-Potty on dogwood course was almost flowing over. Very disgusting. Greens good. Staff very friendly.
Great Winter Golf
Nice and open fairways on the Hawthorne and Dogwood 9’s. Course was in great shape for the middle of January and played well. Obviously the tee boxes and fairways were a little frozen still, but still a great time. Only 1-2 other groups out with us before noon on Sunday, so no rush or backup.
A day at Forrest Park
Had a good time course was nice. 60 bucks a little high for Srs on a Friday. I get it Fri are part of the weekend. All good a very nice venue.

Good Fall Golf
Hawthorne 9 is fun and adequate challenge.
My only complaint is that the dormant grass in the fairway was cut too low. With the ground hard, it’s a bit like hitting off the cart path. Great fun though.
