Rocky River Golf Club at Concord

About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Slow play
I haven’t played here in about 10 years.
Played with three other guys and none of us knew each other we were all singles.
Pace was super slow we were getting yelled at by the people behind us.
We had a couple blind holes. Supposedly hit into the group in front of us three times.
Marshall came up and tried to kick us off the course. Discourse is very nice. But I think they are over selling it a bit because the pace of play was terrible. We are a 5 1/2 hour Round.
All that being said, we played the tips. The course is a quality course. Get ready for a five hour round at least.
They definitely could use a new marshal the guy there has no idea what he’s doing
Nice course
Nice course, but the pace of play was rough. Took about 5:15 to play 18. Would’ve been nice to have some marshallers out pushing the pace a little.
Spring Golf
Had a chance to play this mid week while I was on a multi day drive. Considering the recent weather, this course was in great shape and was very fun to play. Course staff were very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend!
Clubhouse was undergoing some renovation (kitchen I think) so a little short on snacks but I’m sure once it’s complete it will add to the experience.
Getting ready for spring golf
Rocky River is a very good golf experience all around, and getting better.
Right now they're working on improving the clubhouse, a weakness I pointed out in an earlier review.
The electric carts are great, the pro shop is well-stocked with merchandise with competitive prices (March Sale on now), and all the staff is friendly and helpful.
The course itself is in very good shape too. Of course the grass in the fairways is still dormant but it doesn't effect your game. The greens putt pretty true and they're greening up and mowed. The sandtraps are all filled with clean white sand, so it's your fault if you don't get out (now if only golfers would rake!).
If you haven't played Rocky River, you're missing out on a great golf experience.
First Time, But Not My Last
As expected, the fairways were still in their dormant phase, but the greens were in really good shape. From the guy at the front desk to the tee time official outside, the staff was very polite and courteous. The range area is well maintained, but has no rubber tees. The putting practice area was in great shape as well. The carts are updated to include geo-tracking with yardage indicators. I think coming back in summer will give me a better sense of play, Overall, an enjoyable day of golf with some new friends I met.
First time playing here
Really enjoyed the layout of the course. Greens were in excellent shape except for 1 or 2. Would really like to come back early fall and play again.
Nice layout with good variety
Played this as a change of pace this winter. Conditions were fine for winter golf. Pace of play was pretty good for a public course. Cost was a little high but not ridiculous.
Poor customer service
I have played this course many times. I was very disappointed with the poor customer service I experienced yesterday.
The young men were not helpful, instructing me to “go ahead and load my bag on the cart “. Very poor level of service. In the past, I was greeted in a welcoming fashion, my bag was loaded and unloaded, clubs wiped down.
Additionally, we sat patiently waiting for guidance as to when we could start play. When I inquired, I was told that “no one’s on the tee box, I guess you can go”. This was 2 minutes prior to tee time.
Suggestion-your team seems to be retrained in customer service.
Great Day at Rocky River
Took a Monday off and went to Rocky River. Perfect day on the course. Through the cold and rain in the days leading up, the course was in amazing condition. Greens were true and fairly fast. Fairways nicely cut and rough was reasonable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. 5 star!!
Sandy greens
It was a busy day which led to slow play. The greens were lightly sanded but still pretty fast. It's a good layout but the tee boxes are beat up. Will return.
Course is in good condition
Course is in pretty good condition, fast greens, and well cut fairways, friendly staff, but awful pace of play, took 5 and a half hours to play 18 holes, don’t go here if you’re planning on getting a quick 18 in.
Must play!
Played this course for the first time and this is now one of my favorite courses in the area! Staff was great, the greens were amazing, and the pace of play was great as well.
