Decent municipal course, improving
St. Peters has improved lots of areas over the last several years making it more enjoyable. The cart paths and bridges and creek areas are much better. The Tee boxes are all in pretty good shape. the fairways are decent although there are several areas that are somewhat bare, and lots of thin areas owing to the flooding from the nearby creeks. If you are playing the ball down, that makes for some poor shots. If you play "winter rules' and move the ball to a decent spot, you will be fine. The greens are in pretty good condition- consistent speed, few bad areas. It's an enjoyable course, with a few danger spots with several fairways running next to each other- #7 and #17 especially.
Close encounters
Very narrow course otherwise a higher rating..not enough markers out telling you how far to green..clubhouse is beautiful
condition
Pretty much like playing in a cow pasture. They dont take care of course very good, 15.00 course, 20 at the most
Need better marshaling
Decent layout but people jumped in front of us on 10 and I had to go up and tell them that if you're going to jump in front of someone at least don't make us wait on you or let us play through. If the management is letting groups start on 10 then that's bad also because groups are making the turn then We have to wait.
No waiting at all
Had a good time. Wish they could have done something about the wind. Ha! :-0
Poor supervision
Rough day. Course allowed an intoxicated 5 some who were individually talking multiple shots. Made for an incredibly long day
Wear a helmet or armour
I think the course tries hard to be good. Conditions were OK (sandtraps were like cement). My biggest issue was that I was hit twice by rolling golf balls, once on a fly but it hit the cart. All this while standing in the middle of my own fairway and in one instance about 20 yards in front of a green. Parallel fairways and dumb bad luck I suppose but that does come with closely spaced parallel fairways. They do have a beautiful clubhouse and would be a great place to have a beer while waiting to get an X-Ray.
Saturday golf
Pace of play was ridiculous, 3.5 groups waited on the 10th hole for 30+ minutes. The majority of the holes need to be moved, Edges were falling in the cup, lots of lip outs by the entire group throughout the day. Had to deal with the sunflower seeds from a group in front of us, so digesting and disrespectful.
