Very nice course
Not crowded. Comfortable gap between tee times. Well-maintained. Fun to play. Only complaints are lack of drinking water on course and "rustic" toilet facilities. Very friendly staff. I'll definitely go back
Good course, excellent value
I'm a beginner and have played this course several times. I like the layout and find it challenging enough but not too difficult. The staff has been consistently great. Will continue to play here.
Nice conditions for time of year
fairways were good for January. Greens were great.
Lakeshore a little gem
This golf course has a nice layout and is a great value for the money. My colleague and I both enjoy playing here. It is challenging in spots, but very forgiving in others, a nice blend. Weekday play is not very crowded so it's easy to get around in reasonable time. It is easy to get to from about anywhere in the Triangle area.
Awesome driving range
Course was in good shape. Only bad thing is you don't get back to club house till after 18. No restaurant but the staff was helpful and friendly. This is the only driving range you intentionally hit your ball into the water. Great idea..
Lakeshore
I played Lakeshore yesterday and it's in pretty decent shape. Short layout mixed in with some tough holes makes it a nice challenge. Decent value for the money.
Great Round
This was the 3rd course this weekend that I played and I have to say I was very impressed with the condition of this course. I've played here a couple of times before and the greens were really well maintained. the fairway and rough is what you can expect at any golf course this time of year, however its not overly grown yellow grass. Overall, good conditions to play this time of year. Will definitely come back to play soon.
Nice course, condition not so nice
Was summed up well by one of my 4some-- "if it was better maintained, this would be a great place for seniors," which we were. And you can't beat the price!
Bang for the Buck
For playing on short notice in the fall and looking for an early morning tee time, this course was more than adequate. Nice layout with some challenges along the way
Good time at Lake Shore!
Enjoyed 9 at Lake Shore. The staff is super nice. Course is challenging and in good shape.
Not a Good Course
The first time I went out to play Lakeshore I was expecting a fairly good course and an overall good experience from what I had heard from both my friends and others who have played the course in the past. I have to say the course was extremely underwhelming. The course was very simply laid out, nothing too difficult. There were no defining features to the course at all. If it weren't for me shooting my first ever round in the 70's I wouldn't have remembered the course at all. The greens were comparable to a Par 3 course, and the course is set up in such a way so that you don't have a lot of space between one hole and the next. The only positive thing that I would say about the course is that the staff there was very friendly and helpful. I definitely would not recommend this course to anyone who wants to play.
Cool Short course.
Very easy course short course but still has some character. You can tell the course is older but its still nice. Nothing over the top just a good course. The staff is actually really friend which is nice for a change. Greens are good tee boxes are okay fairways are nice.
Mediocre At Best
Decent layout with some challenging holes as well as a couple drivable par fours that make for some great risk-reward features. The tees are in rough shape and the greens even worse. I understand it's the summer, but the greens were rolling insanely slow. There were several areas that were burnt out and really muddy. Very few distance markers on the actual course. The fairways hadn't been mown in a couple days and a lie I had in the dead center of the fairway was almost as bad as the rough. If you've never been to the course, play conservatively off the tee, especially if you're a longer hitter: there are creeks and hazards that cross the fairways where some don't have distances to them marked. Overall, not bad for the money, but if you're a mid-low handicap that values smoother, quicker greens, there are better options out there for a couple bucks more.
Greens are in rough shape
This is the worst I've seen Lakeshore in the past 4 years. Greens are bald, bumpy and extremely unpredictable. Most tee boxes were hard and dry and some were weed choked. The fairways were in better shape than the greens but not by much. Played like winter conditions in late August. Won't be back until they grow some grass!
Good course
Good course for beginners or Seniors. Rather short but has 4 or 5 challenging holes. Tight fairways and postage size greens. Front nine greens and tee boxes were a bit rough. Back nine much better. It appears to be a really old course but management seems to be trying to do their best to keep up . Saw a lot of maintenance workers throughout the day. Played in 3 hours.
Greens were horribly maintained
The tee boxes and fairways were very nice, but the greens were horrible. Need it seeded and watered as the greens are dirt with patches of grass on some areas
