Great Course!!!
Conditions were a little bad earlier in the year, but wow they have it in excellent condition now! Busy 4th of July led to slow pace but that is expected. Fun layout
Great staff, great course.
Thanks, Chip!
Nice course
We really enjoyed this course. It was an older course, but kept up nicely. The staff was friendly. We put it on our list of courses we would like to play again.
Play it
Very suprised at the condition as according to the web photos tht were posted. Not what I expected when I arrived and started play. Found it to be a top notch muni-course. Possibility of moving to the area and will make this course my home course. Enjoyed the lay out, the scenery and condition of all the facets. Thank you. A must to play again..
Nice Course
Lakeshore is very nice. The greens are slower than many courses but in very good condition. The. 9th hole does not turn near the clubhouse. Need to plan beverages for the whole round.
This course has very good features.
I always enjoy playing at Lake Shore GC. I don't believe you can find a better course for the value and they have an excellent staff. The guys are always friendly and accommodating.
Course is in bad shape
When you are 4 feet from the green and you are hitting off of dirt that is a problem for me. The course is in terrible shape. Don't waste your time.
Good
Funny and good,Funny and good.Funny and good,Funny and good
Too much hard pan.
I have played this course more than 30 times now over the last 10 years. I was hoping to work on my skills some this time around as it isn't a difficult course and I am very familiar with it. However, there was so much hard pan everywhere I ended up using hybrids to progress the ball even to greens rather than having conditions where I could use the normal clubs one would use on grass. And we have not been having a drought, more like too much rain.
Played there before - same'o same'o
Not much has changed. The staff is not friendly, they overbook, too narrow for my taste etc....
Lake side beauty
Played this course for the first time with my son. Loved the driving range with the lake as the landing spot. Course was fairly short, but fun to play with plenty of holes that would make you pay for bad shots. Condition was good for this time of year (mid-May) and the views were great. The only minor things were not very clean (and small) restrooms and very slow play which was tolerated by the roaming course ranger (though he apologized).
Needs some work
Its been a rough winter in NC and it really shows on the fairways which are a mixture of grass and significant amounts of bare spots and weeds. Greens were in pretty good shape and staff were friendly. Overall for me, not worth the 40 dollars or so I paid. Hopefully with some nice warm weather, the course will improve.
First time at lake shore
The course was wide open and provided good eye lines for shaping shots. The fairways were a little bare but really enjoyed it.
Not the best but no stress
If you want to have a fun round with the opportunity to shoot low score this is the course to play. All of the greens are easily reachable in regulation . The greens are in great condition and will give even the best putter a challenge on their ability to read the break. I always enjoy playing this course.
Lakeshore GC
The greens were in okay condition, kind of bumpy and the greens were not cut very well at all. The fairways were pretty much a cut back yard, some holes it was impossible to distinguish between the rough and the fairway, which were both bad. The driving range was mats only, which was a let down. The staff was nice, but that's about it. Save yourself time and a don't waste money playing here.
Muddy
Lack of grass and presence of mud made the conditions terrible.
Impressed
This was my first golfing experience on this course. and it was very enjoyable. I typically bring my daughter along with me because she loves to drive the golf cart along with helping me recover balls and keep score. I was paired with a gentleman who taught me a lot as we both walked the entire 18 holes. My daughter was still able to drive the course.
Rough shape but tough winter
Played second week in April. Fairways quite bare and greens in bad shape. I assume the course conditions will improve considerably as we move through spring. Appears that in better condition it can be a nice track.
Which way & where
Course was confusing not enough signs for direction to next tee box. I only saw one ball cleaner.
I am sorry the course wasn't in the shape you were hoping it would be. I will gladly offer you a pass to come back and play once the fairways have come out of their dormant state. Because of this unseasonably cold and wet winter and spring, the Bermuda grass is really slow to "wake up" and turn green. Last season, we were cutting tees and fairways late March. This season, we haven't cut fairways yet at all. This is why you couldn't tell a difference between fairway and rough cut. I would give it 2-3 more weeks and come back out and give us another try, on us. Call the golf shop and ask for Chip and we will get this taken care of. Thanks and we hope to see you again.
