The overall course needs lots of work especially the greens and tee boxes
First timers
We played on a hot deal with GolfNow and for the money, it was ok. Poorly marked and the water features are so vegetation filled, it's hard to tell it's not fairway until your ball is in it. As few of the holes were a little hokie. Greens were rough and inconsistent. Grass was spotty but they may be having a shortage of employees like everyone else.
Nice, But Needs a Little Help
Let's start with the fairways and greens. The fairways are nice, wide open, well kept, and I would say forgiving. The people who live there are active and if you insist on quiet when you play. Well, you will be disappointed, as the residence enjoy their homes. I did not mind it, there were a couple of parties going on.
But back to the actual course....the greens were a little odd, as some seemed to be mushy, and the ball would just die, and others the ball would run away from you. I am sure there are people who play a lot more than I and may have a different perspective. I am also sure from my experience that some would just rake this course over the coals for not being perfect. If you are new to golf, someone who just plays for the fun of it, introducing a new golfer to the game I think you would like this course.
It's a little unsettling to see a for sale sign at the entrance, but it is clearly an active and maintained course. I highly recommend looking for hot deals or lower fees. I personally would not pay more than 20 dollars to play this course. With all that said though, the fairways are wide, and I think it is a nice course.
Unfortunately, when I went the snack bar was closed. Not sure if it was closed permanently or if it was closed because it was Sunday. Regardless, it does lend to the vibe of the course being for sale. It is clean! The 19th hole being closed is why I can't say the off-course amenities are average or higher.
I cannot say anything about the course or facilities being dirty or in disrepair. Other than the bathroom on the back 9. The light did not work, and the lock was missing. It was clean though.
If you are like me and for some reason you always seem to find every bit of water on a course, bring a few extra balls, you will need them. LOL!!!
Bottom Line:
Is the course maintained well? Yes
Are the greens perfect? No, a little inconsistent
Fairways? Wide and well maintained
Would I play again? Yes
Staff? Only saw and interacted with one gentleman who was friendly, polite, and attentive
This Course was not taken care off
The greens were ripped up. There were any piles everywhere and the range wasn’t in good shape either.
Great Course and it’s CHEAP!
I’ve been going to Baywood Golf Course for years. It’s pretty good course and no other course in the area can beat it’s price. The greens are in better shape and than they were a few weeks ago. Lots of water hazards and some cool dog legs. I’ll keep going to Baywood and I highly recommend.
In a nice area
Really could be an awesome course the rough was nicer than most fairways and I don’t want to start with this greens but place has serious potential with its location a little lotta tlc I would go back once it’s in better shape
