Awesome staff and environment
Great course for the money staff is awesome course in good shape even the greens ok after being aerated probably recently. Got behind three slow players that wouldn't let our twosome go through but you could tell they were new golfers and didn't know etiquette. At least we only had four holes behind them to finish our round. We are definitely going to play here more often.
Not worth it
KG made great strides to fix the drainage issues on the front 9. But the members are too entitled and crap all over others. they hire HS kids to run the pro shop and they don’t have any authority to fix any issue. Amenities are subpar. This course is on par with a municipal course in any other proper city.
Poor course conditions
To begin, this is my third time playing this course and it has been the same result each time. I’ve done morning tee times each time I’ve played. This last time I went I had a tee time of 9:00, yet I did not tee off till 10:00. There was a group of about 15 that just showed up (don’t believe with a Tee time) and slowed the pace of play the entire day. There is no one controlling or managing the pace of play. The course is also not very well up-kept. It is soaking wet and marshy everywhere, there is also temporary tee boxes on almost every hole. It has been that way every time I have played there. For the price, I would think the course would be in better shape. This will be the last time visiting this course, very disappointing.
Very disappointed
Played here 3/17/24 with a friend. My friend is not good but he keeps up with pace of play. We had a larger group in front of us. 3 carts total of 4 players. I figured they would be quick. They asked if we wanted to play through on hole 2. I declined as they were playing just as quick as we were. Fast forward to hole 10. The group in front has now gained 2 additional carts and 3 more players. We now have a line forming behind us. We ended up passing on hole 13 without them asking us again. Hole 13 is adjacent to the club house. The staff did not see any problem with the enormous group holding up the hole back nine. Patrons were yelling at the group from the clubhouse deck, as they all knew each other. Took 1.5 hours to play those 3 holes. Once we passed them, did not see another cart through 18. Clearly they cater to the regulars and turn a blind eye to their behavior. Course itself was not in great condition. Some holes were mostly dirt fairways. Greens for the most part were in great condition. All the tee boxes were being worked on. Will not be going back here. Open to the public sign should be taken down. This is clearly a private course for their members only.
Kings Granted!!!
A great venue to play. Course set-up is very good and a great test for moderate golfers. Theyve made some nice changes to the course and done some nice cleanup work. LOVE playing here and am considering a membership.
In terrible shape
I’ve played this course at least three times a year for the last three years and this is by far the worst shape I’ve seen it in. Somehow it was both sunburnt dead hard in some areas and standing water in others. Very little actual grass. Greens were okay.
Another chance
I gave this course another chance after being disappointed in the interaction with the staff. This time it was a completely different experience dealing with staff. Everyone one was very helpful and new faces were there to make sure you enjoyed yourself. We were placed in front of a tournament and was still able to finish in 4 hours. Greens were in great shape but play for the front and let the ball release.
Entitled members ruining the club
The course has made significant improvements. Still needs some work but not bad.
HOWEVER, some members are so entitled that they are ruining the course. Slow play and not allowing others to play through, racist comments made and employees (young adults) won’t address these concerns because the folks carrying on with bad etiquette are members.
This course is not top tier private course it’s very similar to a public muni. Good news is there are plenty of good courses in the area to where we won’t have to keep playing at KG.
Should be priced less
Even for $20 this course is horrible. The greens are actually okay, but this course is for party people. The people that play here destroy the course, play loud music, and drink. If you want to play actual golf, I would avoid this course at all cost. If you want to drink, take large divots, and have a green to destroy this course is for you. The members don’t take care if their own course. Will not be coming back.
Great value for a hotdeal
Challenging and fun. Tee box setups need some work but overall great course for the rate.
