Great value
I really like this course because the layout is fun and challenging from the tips. The course is a little rough in places, but I'm sure it'll get worked out. Very excellent value for money.
Good course location for meet up with traveling family members for a round of golf. Course mostly empty. Greens were mostly fine. Tee boxes were mostly rough and fairways needed care.
Very Surprised
I was very surprised of the condition of this course. Fairways were terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this course at this time.
Poor condition
After reading previous posts I was looking forward to my round. After arriving, I soon realized it was truly a twenty-five dollar course. Clubhouse was renovated and greens were smooth but very slow. Carts were newer. Course had a standing water odor, needed basic landscaping work everywhere, fairways were in need of work as well as much of the course. The staff was helpful.
KIng's Grant
I love paying King's Grant. I book through the golf now app and the price (if you have flexibility for time of day) is amazing AND it includes a cart. Staff is great and the food at the Phoenix Club House is amazing. You can not go wrong with either the Phoenix Burger of Bacon Jam Burger.
Fun Round
Course was very dry but in good shape. When the area gets some rain I’d love to go back and give it another try. I really enjoyed the layout.
Great Course for Price
Course has improved tremendously over the last year. They are putting a lot of work in to make this course great again.
Nice Course, bur Slow Play
I have been playing this course since it re-opened after renovation; it's is good shape, especially the greens. Many of the tee boxes are in pretty bad shape, mainly the par 3 holes. Fairways are generally good, though some drainage issues remain. Biggest issue is slow play on the weekends. This time we were the 4th group out, but already stacking 3 groups deep at the tees. Previous weeks we have been stuck behind 5-somes; not sure how they allow this, but I guess it's tolerated for members.
Overall, still recommend the course, but at the price you'd expect things to run more smoothly. Play during the week, or get the very first tee time if you want to play a brisk pace.
Great Course Overall
Beautiful scenery. Fairways and Greens can use a bit of work, but they're not terrible.
Fairway: a few bald patches near the outer edges of 5 or 6 holes where there's only hard dirt.
Greens: some ball divots and a few bumps of random grass here and there. Some greens were fast while others were pretty slow.
Amenities: Typical pro shop w/ small Bar & Grill attached.
No one bothered my group (4:00pm Tee Time - sale $26/person cart included) and rate of play was fair. We let one guy play through since he was solo. Quick polite exchange of jokes and went on about our rounds.
Seems like they hire a bunch of highschoolers to run the carts/shop. They did a fine job.
Course is really shaping up well
Every time I play here it seem like the course conditions kept getting better and better. Greens have a little sand still but it not noticeable. Fairways are greening up and the rough is starting to fill out.
