Hidden Hills Golf Course
About
Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

A quick afternoon round
I signed up for a 1:30 tee time but when I arrived it wasn’t in the course system. It had been a busy morning with a tournament. They asked me to start on the back nine. I was almost alone on the course and got around in 3 hours without rushing. Some of the tee boxes are starting to improve. The fairways are seasonally very brown. The greens are ok and improving - bumpy spots on some. Overall the course needs some water. I enjoyed the round!
Won a free round and over paid
I won a free round for 4 players here and played it for the last time. The layout’s incredible but the course quality is just garbage. Bunker tee boxes everywhere, greens you have no idea what you’ll see maybe a bunker on the green maybe it’s go aeration’s on it. The fairways same thing. If this course was actually taken care of it would be one of the best spots to play.
Queens harbor right down the road and in 50x the shape this *** box is.
No, just no
What is going on with Jacksonville courses. Second one in three weeks that is in horrible condition.
Played Hidden Hills on Thursday the 2nd. The greens were in decent shape, a little slow and bumpy but at least they were green. But the fairways were a disaster. Most of the fairways were brown and dead and hard as a rock because there was just dead grass. There were occasional spots of green areas It’s like they’ve never watered them. I don’t get how these courses are falling apart and still charging full price. It’s too bad because the course layout is challenging and would be fun if it was in good shape, buttttt, it’s not .
One less course to play
Oh and the guy in the pro-shop came across rude and unfriendly
Conditions are Abysmal
This course went from incredible conditions in December to being in the worst condition I've ever seen it in a matter of 4 months time. What happened??
Good Value
Fairways and tee boxes have seen better days. Greens are progressively getting better as the year goes on. Challenging course & great value for $
Still needs work
This could be a great course but needs some work. Most tee boxes were mostly sand. Greens are getting better than the last time I played. Fairways appear to be scalped and in need of water & grass. Will continue to play especially with hot deals.
Skow play!!
Need a ranger! Fairways were OK.. lots of hard snad and grass. Greens were bumpy and fast.
Nice course
Great course. Very pretty. Play was slow. I’d fire Richard that works at the counter though. I’ve been twice and both times he was a Richard. (Names not Richard but you get the drift)
