One of the nicest members only courses
I was extremely lucky to have been invited to play here. This course just very recently got a major renovation. Although I didn't get to see the old vs new improvements, the member walked me through all the new changes and one can definitely tell that the course got a major facelift. The course is in excellent condition, and being a members only course, one could tell that it stays in much better shape than muni courses with tons of traffic and wear from too much play. The course plays pretty long from the blues, and it plays difficult as it requires accuracy and sometimes shot shaping off the tee. A couple of the par 5s are pretty monstrous, not sure how people can get to the green in two. Every hole plays pretty uniquely, the back nine is a little more challenging than the front nine. The tee boxes which have been renovated are immaculate. The greens roll pretty slow, and it's probably because they all have been redone and need more time to get into their true form. I would love to become a member of this place, but it's outside of my price point. Having been to other country clubs in the area, this one is the one that has impressed me the most. I cannot wait to be invited again.
Great course!
I've played on 20+ courses in South Florida and this course was the most "natural" or "raw" that I have played on. Really enjoyed the Old Florida feel to the course and I'll definitely be playing this again soon!
Great Course
Very nice course, relaxing area, will go back any time,
A bit rainy but still a wonderful experience.
We played Ironhorse on Saturday 12/7 and despite all the rain we had experienced recently the course was still in immaculate condition. There were a few areas that had some casual water, but aside from that it was hard to believe that their grounds staff was able to get the course in this good of shape. I would strongly recommend this to course to anyone looking to schedule a tee time this winter.
Perfect shape, great greens, great value
Incredible value with Golfnow. Very interesting course with many different holes. Super finishing hole. You need to be able to carry the ball on a few holes. Only drawback: speed of play could be a little long. I liked it so much that I returned the day after.
This course has a fun layout that presents some challenging shots.
I had a very enjoyable time playing this golf course. The conditions were wonderful and the staff was very helpful. I will definitely be looking forward to playing this course in the future.
Course very wet cart path only.
This course is built on a swamp so if it rains, expect cart path only. Very nice layout, tough course to score on, elevated greens, well maintained. Plays longer than the yardage. It was a private country club, great locker room, and free range balls. If you can get this course on golfnow for less than $40 grab it. One of the top ten in West Palm.
Great experience
This is an excellent layout. The fairways are generous but precision is required on the approach shots and water lurks continuously. There are many pretty views to enjoy, lots of sand cranes and gators, it's almost like a trip to the zoo. I will definitely be returning. The only down side is that the staff had a bit of a dismissive attitude but I didn't care because I knew I was getting a great value.
Noise
Just noise from highway on somes holes this is a great golf course
Private course. Can only play using GOLFNOW.
This is a private course that the public can play using GOLFNOW. It's in very good shape. Although it did not seem that difficult, the slope was 131, and my score was pretty high.
NICE LAYOUT WITH SOME CHALLENGING HOLES.
THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME I PLAYED THIS COURSE. I LIKED IT THE FIRST TIME BUT IT BECAME EVEN MORE INTERESTING THIS TIME WITH WINDS IN THE 20 TO 35 MPH RANGE! PROBABLY ONE OF THE PRETTIEST AND MOST INTERESTING COURSES IN SOUTH FLORIDA. I WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING HERE.
Great experience for the price
Excellent quality for the price. Good service. Nice practice area with free range balls before the round. Pace of play was great (less than 3.5 hrs). Some greens needed a little work, this was being done as I was playing. Other parts of the course were in good shape. WPB golf can be very overpriced, did not feel this was the case here
Pro shop staff were rude - didn't seem to care about golfnow business.
Rude staff!!!!!! Agressive towards golfnow golfers.
I would play again.
Beautiful layout, many scenic areas, challenging course, looking forward to playing again. My group enjoyed all services .
Excellent layout
What an enjoyable time playing at Ironhorse. A true semi-private club with 1st Class facilities and services. Hopefully when we return to the area next year, there will be great values like the one you offered last week.
The course is in very good shape and it's a good challenge.
The course was in great shape when we played. It is part of our short list of best golf course when we are in the West Palm Beach area for golfing.
We strongly recommand this course if you are looking for a good challenge.
Thanks,
Pierre B
Love this course. Played it many times in the past.
Course is one of my favorites. Close to home and a great layout. It is fairly difficult but according to what tees you choose to play.
Wet Day
Course was very wet. driving range was closed due to all the recent rainfall. cart path only. course will play long due to soft fairways. love the course overall. very challenging.
driving range closed, wasted an hour early there, good shape
The staff is better than it was. Clearly they cater to the members first which I get but the fee is a premium for this time a year. No driving range open means we had to wait an hour to tee off. pace was fast . love the course goes easy to hard and has grown a lot in the last two years.
Worthy
The layout is reminiscent of any good South Carolina lowland layout and is in very good condition...This is a semi-private country club, so we did see members playing and congregating around the clubhouse and we could sense the staff was a bit more attentive than at a public course...The course is challenging but fair and will give you all you want...The holes were interesting enough that I can recall a few of them and on a Saturday afternoon we virtually had the course to ourselves for $29...can't beat that...
