Awesome Top Tier Municipal Course

This is a great course for the price. This is a "hidden-gem" in the area. There isn't a driving range and there isn't a cart-girl.

This course is very underrated. It's almost as nice as Gannon, which is right up the road. This course is challenging, but pretty fun. The condition is very good, and it's a good value for the money, could be $20 more per round I'd say. Greens are usually in good shape and not too many people.

Target course

Felt like a lot of holes had a predetermined route that you must hit. No room for variations or alternate routes and immediately off the fairways, the brush was so dense it was impossible to find a stray ball. If you have the skill to play consistent target golf I recommend it, but I am not at that point and would not recommend it for anyone who is not.

Favorite course in the North Shore

I play this course multiple times a year. The course is my favorite in the North Shore. Definitely has the best greens for a public course in the area. The course is challenging with elevation changes and blind shots. Helps to play the course multiple times to get a feel for the course. The course has a great practice green for chipping and putting before the round. Only issue is the pace of play sometimes.

Walked

A top course within I-95

I love how challenging yet affordable this place is. Lots of tricky holes, but nothing that an intermediate golfer can't enjoy. This place is very hilly, which sets up for some cool tee shots, but also quite the workout for walking. For less than $50 it's my favorite layout to play near Boston.

A must play in the North Shore of MA!

You get it all on this course. Some holes where you can let the drive loose and some you need to holster it. One of my favorite courses in the area next to Black Swan. I'd play here more if I could walk the course. It's a tough walk!

Kind of fun...

I got a steal of a deal on GolfNow via the HotDeal of $24.00 for 18 and a cart. From a lot of the previous reviews, I knew that this course was going to be difficult for a first timer and that sure proved to be true. I found myself hitting great shots, but often was in trouble due to a lack of course knowledge. Not the golf course's fault.

Overall the golf course was fun. It has SERIOUS elevation changes, but feels so much like a mountain course. I rolled my eyes and kind of chuckled when other reviews said you will need every club in your bag, but surprisingly it was true.

If the price is right I will return, but may be a little too quirky of a golf course for me to take seriously.

fun course

it was well maintained considering it was Dec 1, staff friendly, no leaves around, so I was not looking all over for my ball like you can at other course's in the fall in new England.

Best value I've ever had in my 35 years of playing golf

I played the course for the first time with my buddy. We got paired up with two guys. One of the men knew the course, which was very important as there are many blind shots. There are many elevation changes and some beautiful views of the surrounding area. The conditions were great for a municipal golf course. The carts were new, they had ball and club washers and divot mix bottles on them. This is not a walkers course. Besides the elevation changes, there are many long walks between green and tee. By the time you walk to the tee the group behind you will be there with you. Birdhouses are the 150 yard markers. Never leave a birdie putt short. Have Fun!!!

My favorite greens

Greens are quick, but in perfect shape always. The greens are some of the best I've found in the area, they seem to rival the international oaks course condition and speed-wise. Lots of slope and blind shots make this course a tough the first time, but play it several times and learn from your previous mistakes and be happily rewarded

Challenging and enjoyable

Carved out from steep hills with large trees, the front nine is more enjoyable than the back nine. On the whole a very good day on the course.

Nice Golf Course

Meadows at Peabody is a very nice and challenging course. You need to play a couple times to appreciate it. Course knowledge is a big advantage. Lots of hills. Difficult to walk. Great value on weekdays.

Nice course but too gimmicky

This course is a very pretty course and well-maintained, but it's too gimmicky and not well marked enough which makes for a frustrating round. Countless blind shots and hardly any distance markers is not a good combo and contributes to the somewhat slow pace of play with people seemingly always a bit lost on the course. I would recommend buying the course booklet for $1 as it gives a better idea of how to play each hole. Overall it's a nice course for a decent price but the layout and lack of distance markers makes it very frustrating to play.

Challenging course

For the money, I would definitely play here again. The Meadow is always in good condition. Greens are a bit on the slow side, except for hole 9. For some reason that hole is always twice as fast.

Fun, challenging course

I had a great time here even though I shot my worse round since my first year playing.

It was a challenging layout, not overly long but a lot of hazards to consider. A lot of elevation change, blind shots, forced carries and out of bounds lead to a tough round.

Everything was in great shape, the manager was a great guy.

I look forward to tackling this course when I get my handicap down.

Great Public Course in the greater Boston Area

I believe The Meadow At Peabody is an excellent value for a course in the greater Boston Area. For only $46 you can walk the course, although I do not recommend walking more than 9 holes as the course is a bit hilly. Overall the greens were in very good condition. The course is fun yet challenging.
