Course in good shape- winter fast
I love the layout of this course. Challenging holes but with generous fairways. The course has winter grass- so it’s hard and rolling fast.
Most greens were in good condition and rolling fast.
Stunning View
What a stunning view!! I have enjoyed stunning panoramic views on the teeing grounds of the 16th and 18th holes. Hope to play only those 2 holes back and forth.
A fine course, a few greens need improvement.
This is a fine canyon course, although some of the greens are a little rough in places.
$8 for a warm-up basket of around 25 balls is excessive…ridiculous, frankly.
I will return here - but avoid the driving range.
fun, scenic course
Pro's-First 6 holes were in average shape, but the rest of the course was good. Loved how the back nine went into the hills. worth the price
con-Staff charged us the wrong amount , at first, and pushed our tee time back 20 minutes without explanation. Slow play ahead of us and the group behind us hit into us 3 times.
Fantastic views
One of the most pleasing courses for great views. The course condition has improved a lot in the 4 years I've been visiting. The shop staff are usually friendly but I've had less than the best welcome too. The Greens now rate 7/10 having been disastrous not that long ago. The par 5's are excellent but the 4's less so. A bit samey. Par 3 9th is spectacular as is the Par 4 18th, the one real exception to the earlier assessment. I've been told the tee shot on 18 has the largest vertical drop on mainland US. Then the 2nd shot is to a green well protected by water. The green fees have increased a lot. However there are bargains. I got a full round for $40 but it was close. That's really extraordinary value.
Amazing day with my son!
I had seen many negative reviews of what used to be one of my favorite golf courses. Reviews seemed to be getting better so I decided to book a round for my son and myself. The course was in terrific shape. You can tell that it was getting the attention that it may have been lacking in the past. The tee boxes and greens were in terrific shape as well as most of the fairways and bunkers. Really glad to see the course in great shape and will be back in the near future.
Enjoyable round of golf. Pace would likely benefit from the presence of a Marshall
Played a Wednesday twilite round. Overall it was an enjoyable round.
Staff were all friendly and helpful when necessary.
Course layout is one of the more enjoyable around. Conditions xontinue improving but still a little rough in a few spots. No temp greens though and overall I don't have any real complaints about course condition That being said I was aware of any issues re:condition before booking my tee time.
The one suggestion I would offer though is to hire a Marshall or two. It would only serve to improve pace of play. I wouldn't say it's a complaint, but it was a 4:45+ round, midday, midweek.
I've been golfing here since they opened and always look forward to golf at Glen Ivy.
Not good as memories
The greens are sanding and sparse in some area. Working machine near greens bothered the players. TeeOff starter didn’t organize, just first come first service.
Quality layout
But course still isn’t up to par. The fairways were in decent condition, mixed grasses but not thin, and the greens are getting better from the horror stories I’ve heard. However they are still all different paces and firmness levels. Give it 6 months and some consistent mowing I bet will be more standard.
Couple side notes. Views are great on the back 9, par 3’s are all very long, Also, cart girl only on Thurs-Sunday.
Good Layout, still improving conditions
From what I’ve heard, this course is much better than it used to be… that said, the greens are still working their way to more. Some are soft and slow, some hard and slow, some soft and fast. Lengths and speeds are all over the place, so really hard to get a putt to do anything consistent. However, the fairways are nice and the layout is fun. Par 3’s are a little long considering the rest of the course, but enjoyed it. Cart lady only runs thurs-Sun. So be ready for that. Carts are nice and gps works well.
Play after rainy days
Great course but would like to play in drier conditions. Grass and greens mowed, not cart path only, you get the drift
On the up but still decent
Great round for the price. Course needs more work but it looks like they’re investing. Loads of potential
Good Layout, nice facilities.
I played this course several years ago and was not impressed with any part of it but this latest 18 seemed to be much different in a positive way. The staff from check-in to the cart gentlemen was excellent and the course was as interesting as it was challenging. A few unexpected muddy spots on fairways and greens that were good but a little inconsistent. I will definitely be back in the future.
COME PLAY HERE
For this time of year this course is great. Tee boxes look good, fairways are Solid, and rough is changed over in color. Bunkers played well and the greens rolled good. Glen Ivy you can tell does not overseed. The greens that are always in question by everyone these days are playing well people. The back 9 is gorgeous and the views are perfect. These guys have been improving this course over the year and it shows. Pro Shop guy who I think is the Head Pro was awesome and always has a great attitude, did not eat any food so no review, seen no bev cart on the course but the Marshall guy I seen a few times and the outside guy was good. I think the only negative thing I see is that practice putting green and driving range eeeeeek… seems as they improved the course those two were neglected. It would be nice to come up and practice.
Great day in Corona!
My group wanted to get away and play a new course. We had a great day and walked away truly impressed with Glen Ivy. Will definitely return to play.
