Kauai compensates for a lack of golf options with premium quality. Hawaii's oldest and northernmost island features just nine golf courses, but four of them rank among the top 10 in all of the Hawaiian islands, and a fifth -- Puakea -- might offer the best value of any course on Hawaii. Jason Scott Deegan has more.
Kauai is filled with golf experiences that are top-100 worthy, but one of the more unique things about golf here is that there are many more casual and affordable options. Even if you're not much of a golfer or want to take the kids or spouse out for a quick and easy round, Kauai has you covered. Brandon Tucker has more.
Since opening in the late 1980s, Kauai Lagoons Golf Club has undergone more plastic surgery than an aging Hollywood starlet. Instead, design aficionados will notice more subtle nuances by architect Robin Nelson. More than any other course on Kauai, Nelson was maestro of the tradewinds here. Not a single hole plays in the exact same direction. And in many cases, subtle doglegs make each shot play just a little differently.
