A look at Colorado's top-rated Pole Creek Golf Club in Winter Park

WINTER PARK, Colo. -- As one of the only 27-hole public facilities in Colorado, Pole Creek Golf Club has won several accolades, including the top-rated course according to Golf Advisor raters.

The Denis Griffiths-designed course first opened in 1983 with what is now the Meadow and Ranch nines. The Ridge Nine was added recently and has the firmest greens of the three layouts.

Each nine is different, but the entire course features the same terrific views of the Rockies and the Continental Divide. Pictured above are the Ranch and Ridge nines, where you can find plenty of wildflowers, native pines and elevated tees. The courses have ample fairways and interesting greens. And the facility offers Golf Bikes as an alternative to golf carts.
