Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community in Courtenay, B.C.: A solid play on the Vancouver Island Golf Trail

COURTENAY, B.C., Canada -- There are 11 courses on the Vancouver Island Golf Trail and Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community is a perfect example of what to expect. This 7,025-yard championship layout is plenty difficult from the back tees, but with ample fairways, large greens and a great variety of holes, it's an enjoyable test for golfers of almost any level.

There are more than 500 members at the club, but there's plenty of room on the tee sheet for guests, who can stay at the resort's well appointed villas and enjoy this Graham Cooke design that features 11 lakes and views of the Beaufort Mountains and Comom Glacier. The golf course also has more than 10,000 annual plants and uses virtually no pesticides, which is a real testament to its conditioning.

The resort also includes a 48,000-square-foot clubhouse with large golf shop, practice facilities, a golf academy, restaurants, fitness center, ample meeting space and classic car museum.
