Find dramatic Rees Jones golf at expansive Broad Run Golfer's Club in West Chester
WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- Broad Run Golfer's Club, located just outside of West Chester, is a Rees Jones-designed gem that was carefully sculpted from 372 acres of rolling hills.
The expansive golf course is not what you would expect to find so close to downtown Philly. The dramatic terrain serves as the centerpiece of the course, providing the holes with plenty of movement and stunning views that stretch across the surrounding countryside.
The course offers a variety of holes, some which play along the valley floor and others that edge along the ridge tops. There are also holes that play across open grassy meadows and some that are routed through dense forests. Throughout the course, swampy marsh areas and high fescue grass wait to swallow up errant shots but Jones included only minimal bunkering so that the challenges wouldn't be too overwhelming.
One of the most memorable holes is the 15th. This uphill par 5 has a tough blind tee shot to a plateau green surrounded by trees but it's hard to be too upset at the difficulty with such a beautiful view in front of you.
