Grip it and rip it at Stallion Mountain Golf Club near the Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS -- Stallion Mountain Golf Club is conveniently located just seven miles from the heart of the Strip, and only 15 minutes from McCarran International Airport. The club originally opened as Sunrise Golf Club in 1991 but has since undergone numerous changes, including a complete rerouting of the front and back nines in 2004.

After closing during the recession in 2008, new owners brought the course back to life and reopened in 2011. Over the years, the course has been the host venue for the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Classic and the PGA Tour's Las Vegas Invitational.

The Jim Colbert-designed layout strikes a nice balance with challenges including tiered fairways and greens complemented by player-friendly features like the generous landing areas off the tee. Thousands of mature pine trees are spread throughout the course and there are also several strategically placed bunkers that come into play. Five lakes provide dramatic water holes that have become the trademark of the layout. With ample opportunities to grip it and rip it, long hitters will enjoy the course but there is enough sand and water to make you think twice about your club selection.

In addition to the golf course, Stallion Mountain has a practice facility with an expansive grass range, large putting green, and a short-game area.
