Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Wolfdancer Golf Club a Texas Triangle escape

LOST PINES, Texas -- About 20 miles east of Austin is the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort, home to the 18-hole Wolfdancer Golf Club as well as a slew of other outdoor activities to enjoy.

The 400-plus-acre resort is set in the heart of Lost Pines, a rolling 13-square-mile stretch of loblolly pines on the cusp of the Texas Hill Country. The resort also borders an 1,100-acre preserve, McKinney Roughs.

The golf course, designed by Arthur Hills, opened in 2006 and plays more than 7,200 yards from the back of five sets of tees. Set across 140 acres, the course features numerous types of topography. The course begins on some of the property's highest ground, some of which is open and exposed, which affords the longest views. Other holes play through tree line, while the remaining six holes play on low ground beside the Lower Colorado River.

The course, also home to a teaching academy, makes up just a small part of the overall Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort. Guests here can find numerous ways to enjoy the outdoors, from fishing to hiking to horseback riding. Kids can enjoy the large pool area or stop by the petting zoo. Adults will enjoy numerous dining options as well as the Spa Django, which features a much quieter pool area compared to the main, kid-centric pool as well as private relaxation areas and a fitness center.
