Public Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita, California plays like a private club

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -- "It's not a private club, it just plays like one." These words reflect the philosophy of Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita, Calif. Located 25 miles north of Los Angeles, the club's two 18-hole layouts, the Valley Course and the Mountain Course, are the exact natural replica of California landscapes. Laid out on more than 400 acres of unspoiled land, Robinson Ranch G.C. is surrounded by the Angeles National Forest. Ted Robinson Sr. magically combined two opposite worlds, valleys and mountains, in this beautiful mix of nature, sport and pleasure.

The 25,000-square-foot clubhouse at Robinson Ranch Golf Club boasts rustic ranch decor. In addition to fine dining and a terrace lounge, the clubhouse can host meetings and banquets of up to 300 guests.

Born and raised in the former Soviet Union, photographer Oleg Volovik moved to the United States in 1992 and now lives with his wife and two children in Los Angeles. He joined the TravelGolf editorial team in 2010. Originally graduated with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering he continued to dedicate his time and energy to his passion for visual arts and photography. Oleg has extensive experience in fine arts, fashion, event, architecture and journalistic photography. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Moscow, where he also taught a master class, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard, in April 2007. He may be a novice golfer, but Oleg always wears a white leather glove during photo sessions. "Golf photography is my own 'game' with the beauty of nature and human creativity.
