Sculpted from the pinelands, the Pines golf course at the Seaview hotel near Atlantic City is both scenic and challenging
ABSECON, N.J. -- The Seaview Hotel and Golf Club is nestled in a charming seaside town and is the only golf and spa resort on the New Jersey Shore. Although the locale may seem charming and secluded, it is conveniently close to the airport and less than 10 miles from Atlantic City.
The resort offers two golf courses, the tree-lined Pines Course and the links-style Bay Course.
Designed by Howard Toomey & William Flynn, the Pines was added after the Bay, but it is by no means a new course. The traditional layout opened as a nine-hole course in 1927 but has since expanded to a full 18 holes. The entire golf course was sculpted from scenic pinelands, offering terrain that is both scenic and challenging. The classic layout provides a straightforward round with no gimmicks, but the narrow fairways require accuracy and there are several doglegs with which to contend. The 16th and 17th are two of the toughest holes on the course. Both of these par 3s play into the prevailing winds.
In addition to the two golf courses, Seaview also has a golf academy staffed with PGA Tour and LPGA Tour winners and professionals.
