Sunday River Golf Club in Newry, Maine is quite a roller-coaster ride

NEWRY, Maine -- Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Sunday River Golf Club winds through the woods in a stunning mountain setting overlooking the Sunday River Valley and Mahoosuc Range.

The golf course follows the natural topography of the landscape taking advantage of natural features with a design will test your ability to compensate for uneven lies and calculate yardages based on elevation change.

With four sets of tees, ranging from 5,006 yards to 7,130 yards, the course is playable by various levels, but it rarely lets up, no matter what tees you play. Drives that stray off the fairways have a chance of making the tree-lined drop-offs, and there are several forced carries from more rearward tee boxes.

Named to Golf Magazine's list of Top 100 Courses You Can Play and ranked among the top golf courses in Maine by several publications, Sunday River Golf Club is a must-play for any avid golfer visiting the Pinetree State.
