The Carrick delivers spectacular resort golf to the shores of Loch Lomond

WEST DUNBARTONSHIRE, Scotland -- Just a few minutes south of famous Loch Lomond Golf Club is a resort course anyone can play: The Carrick on Loch Lomond, part of the luxurious Cameron House Hotel. The course opened in 2007 and was designed by Canadian architect Doug Carrick. It plays to 7,082 yards from the back set of five tee boxes.

The course's opening holes play on relatively flat, inland ground with a good amount of water hazards and bunkers. After the par-5 eighth hole, a gorgeous dogleg left with the Ben Lomond mountain serving as a backdrop, the ninth trudges uphill toward the "highlands." The next several holes play on high ground before the par-3 14th hole, a straight shot downhill toward the loch's shores. The remaining holes play along the loch until the 18th heads back inland toward the clubhouse.

The Carrick is open to both resort guests and the general public, and golf groups can inquire about staying in the main Cameron House Hotel a mile from the golf course, or stay on site in new villas built at the golf club. There is a spa, restaurant and full driving range and short game area on site.
