The Celebrity Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort near Palm Springs, California
The Celebrity Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort is one of two at the resort, also home to the Players Course.
Formerly built in 1986, both city-owned golf courses were completely overhauled and opened in 2006, starting with the Celebrity. The course was used for two LG Skins Games in 2007 and 2008.
The Celebrity features a little more topographical variance than the Players and also has more tight holes lined with trees. There is a stretch of wide-open holes on the back nine, starting with the 12th hole through the 16th hole.
The course is shorter than the Players from the championship tees at just 7,050, but can play longer in spots thanks to some elevated tee shots and narrow driving holes. Both are rated among the best public golf courses in California and the best municipal plays in the United States.
Located in the Indian Wells Resort complex, both courses are managed by Troon Golf and feature top conditions and over-seeded turf during the winter and spring months. Indian Wells residents receive sharp discounts on green fees and golf packages are available through the participating Indian Wells resorts.
