With nearly 100 courses, the Grand Strand makes for one of the most versatile golf destinations in the United States. There are courses for every budget and taste. Some are worthy of testing the best in the game, while others' scenery will leave a lasting memory.
Myrtle Beach is on the edge of the lowcountry, so mossy oaks dominate the landscape in the South Strand. To the north, courses set beside expansive marshes and tributaries to the waterway make for a fabulous setting.
We've compiled a dozen of the most scenic courses, from Brunswick County to Pawleys Island. Most of these play along or near the Intracoastal Waterway. There are no true oceanfront holes in Myrtle Beach, which is surprising considering it is, in fact, the "Grand Strand." But marsh and waterway holes are aplenty.
We guarantee you'll have your camera out at these twelve area golf courses, which include designs by Jack Nicklaus, Mike Strantz and Tom Fazio among others.
