Dragon's Fire Golf Club
Played On 08/06/2020Horrible Conditions
This course has seriously gone down hill. The greens were in the worst condition I have ever seen here. The fairways were more weeds then grass. The sandbunkers are over grown with grass so high around the edges of the bunkers. Ever heard of a weed trimmer Dragons Fire???
For a course that charges this much, I expect better. This will be the last time I play Dragons Fire. No coincidence that an employee of the course told me they are having ownership problems. Maybe the next owners can do better.
Peace out, Dragons Fire!
Chippewa Creek Golf and Country Club - Red Falcon/Gold Eagle
Played On 10/11/2018Poorly Managed
Worst day of golf at the course all year. Staff were actually cutting the fair while we were driving onto it!,
One nine was closed for fall prep. But instead of booking less players, they tried to squeeze a crazy amount of people onto the same nine at once. Coming from someone that has experience with course management, this was a disaster. I honestly think they have no idea how to run an efficient course.
I don not recommended this course. Spend your money elsewhere... lots of great courses in the same area. Knollwood is run much better and it’s just down the street.
Brant Valley Golf Course
Played On 07/06/2018Nice day, slow greens
Another great day of golf. Brant Valley is always a visually appealing course. Only negative today was the shaggy greens. They definitely need a cut and roll. Felt like I had to pelt my putts, even the close ones. This time of year should have fast firm greens. Just my two cents.

If you are looking for a scenic course this one will impress. The course layout can be tough if you don't know the best layup positions. If you respect the course and use proper course management you can really do well here.
Just a side note, keep your eyes peeled for maintenance crews. They can be very aggressive. Recently one grounds keeps ran over my ball and chewed it right up. After speaking to the course manager all he could do was apologize. But it seemed like he really didn't care.
So if you book a round just make sure you protect your ball at all times. Grounds keepers may destroy it or other golfers may cross fairways looking for theirs and take yours instead.

Played On 06/04/2015Nice Course, But No Respect For Players
I am not the type of person to write reviews. A good course and a bad course are very personal things. What I like may not be the same as what others like. That being said, I think all golfers can agree that common courtesy from the golf course staff and maintenance crew is expected by everyone.
I was playing a hole and there was a maintenance crew filling divots during our approach shots to the green. When we asked if one of them could move so we could take our chip shot, we got nothing but attitude from the grounds keepers.
On the next hole we were teeing off with a riding mower doing circles around our tee box.
15 years, never experienced anything like this. The driver of the mower had not respect and when asked if he could stop and allow us to tee off, the old guy gave us attitude and drove down....the fairway...and parked in the landing area of where we were driving too.
Never again, will we play this course.

Played On 04/17/2015Cart Path Only
Beautiful course as always. Marshall at every hole to keep things moving. However, with the cart path only rule, it really slows the game down. It was a beautiful day, sun shinning. No reason for Cart Path only rule. Had to keep the cart on the path, walk out to the ball, laser the hole yardage, walk back to the cart, select the club and walk back out to the ball. This really slows down the game for the serious golfer. Meanwhile Marshalls are pushing you on every hole to go faster.
Played the round in 3.5 hrs with 4 people. Marshall had nothing to complain about.
Will not take my clients here again, when cart path rule is in effect.
Burlington Springs Golf Club
Played On 09/25/2014Great Course. Horrible Pace of Play
I do enjoy playing this course alot. But the one thing I point out to others is that the pace of play is not good at all. The starter does not know how to pace the players at all. Last time I went we showed up for our 2pm tee time and the starter let 2 groups of 4 in front of my twosome. Not only that, the 2 groups were half drunk and they were late for their tee time that was suppose to be 1:30pm. Because they were late I had to suffer. I tried explaining this to the starter but he was not listening. By the 7th hole (which is right beside the club house) we demanded our money back becase it had taken over 2 hours to play 7 holes! It was as this time that another guy in the club house suggested we jump over to the 10th hole and come finish 7-9 later. Once we did, we played 10-18 in less time than it took us to play 1-7.
Overall this was horrible time management. This really put a damper on our day and felt extremely unprofessional for the amount of $$ we paid.
My suggestion is that if you want to play Burlington Springs, pick a week day and go during the off season.
Good Luck.
