Glenbrier Golf Course
Played On 07/08/2018This course is nicely laid out
The course was in good condition and laid out nicely. The greens were receptive, a little slow but that could be the result of keeping them slightly longer because of the excessive heat and keeping them well watered. it was enjoyable to play and the staff was very friendly. They have a serviceable practice area for driving, chipping, sand work and nice practice greens. My wife and I played and found it a fair challenge for all lengths of ball strighters. We will play the course again and the only suggestion that I would have is a short printed guide for new users telling them the length to hazzards or doglegs. We hesitated several times trying to guess layup or carry distances and the guide would be a one time effort and helpful until the newer players get used to the very interesting course. We did use every club in the bag.
A fun round.
Brookshire Inn & Golf Club
Played On 06/10/2016This course is maintained very nicely.
The course is relatively short but laid out nicely, focusing primarily on position off the tee and putting a premium on accuracy for your short to middle irons into protected smaller greens. There is a fair amount of water around the course that comes into play and it is nicely bunkered but the bunkers could a little better sand mix. The front moves smoothly most of the time but the tighter back nine sometimes gets a little backed up.
They have a beverage cart on the course and a very nice, beautifully landscaped nineteenth hole along with good food for after round beverages or dining. They also have very nice live entertainment on some afternoons.
One down side is that they don't have a driving range but overall it is a very good value.
