Course is in pretty good shape, rough still needs work

We finished 18 in just under 3 hours today, but last week we sat at every T box (was horrible). But today was really quick. . Greens are good, rough still should be s but better managed. Also lots of cut grass not picked up. I’m enjoying this course (as long as we are not watching people head down in their phone walking between holes with zero concern for folks waiting on them!!! While it’s an ok walking course, I’m not sure it should be allowed when groups are packed in ( again today was excellent, and out of the last 4 weeks , we have finished in 3 hours two times, and well over 4 hours 1 time.

Nice course and on discount great course to play

I will give a breakdown as I normally do.

Good location.

They have a driving range, but again old matts (and I'm really tired of my game being ruined by first hitting off forgiving mats and then have to actually play golf). No real distance information, old mats, $10 for a large bucket (one of the loudest ball machines I've ever witnessed) But they have a range so you can warm up.

Carts are okay, they are older, no cooler, but they function just fine. (they are electric (so not that old :))

Course, we teed off and the first hole was nice, but come to hole 2 which is a par 3 and we had 2 4-somes in front of us.

They had a tournament of 40 people it seems and they put us on their heals (really bad!!) Obviously a two some is going to play quicker but with a 40 person tournament, we are not going to really play through all those groups. So we sat back and figured it would be a long day. 5 hours. We really think 18 should be 4 hours and we can make it 3.5 on occasions. So today was a bit poor scheduling from the pro shop. And note "we can lose balls with the best of them!! so it's not that we are scratch!"

Fairways and greens were all in great condition. A bit bumpy, but it's possible that they aerated not to long ago.

Bunkers were pretty packed down, they could use some Sand (it's not like it's been raining here), but otherwise they are in good positions and pretty nice (if you want to give a sand trap a prop! :))

The had a 2 way device to order food at the start of 9, but I guess it's broken (doesn't matter we were waiting anyways and ordered and relaxed and still got to the 10th where we had to wait)..

So food, better food than we have had in a while. Tri-tip sandwich for $8.00 with chips, that is better than most places that charge $8.00 for a hot dog and chips. Decent selection, so ya! Even has a full bar, so you can sit around after and grab a drink.

I wasn't sure at first with the range and the wait. But it really is a nice course, have to lay up sometimes and play smart other times (and most houses have some protection from you :)).

So for the golfmoose or other type deal, ya I think we would play there again, we did enjoy the course and thinks it's nicer than one of the local Livermore courses for less money.. :)

Also can there be a rule if the course is over 6000 yards, you don't let people walk?! There are some large distances between holes, that take walkers forever (yes I'm all for the exercise, but really these courses have to stop allowing folks to walk, unless they allow walkers first thing or last in a given day.

First time playing, neat course, concrete greens

First time playing, drove a bit over an hour to play here. Nice setting..

Okay so my last few reviews the course didn't have what I would call an acceptable driving range. However, this one does. It's big, it's wide, it's long. Prices are fair, flags with 10' or so circle for a green, so you can see if the ball settles in the area vs just aiming at a green. Note: the area we were hitting from and the 2-3 areas in front of that were rough. They probably needed to move this all back another spot before we arrived at 11:00 (was really chewed up).. But solid driving range, lots of space, so A- :)

Carts, good quality electric carts, good places for your playing balls and tees and beverages. Electric etc..

Course, it's nice it really is, has some width, so you have some room to work the ball, sand traps (luckily I only ended up in 2, (one fairway and one green side), but they had actual fluffy sand, well maintained etc.. No real information on the score card, so you are kind of on your own, if you just wanted a basic layout of the hole! :)

The areas where water would come into play, def made you consider your shots. (I put 2 in the water from the drive and one that rolled over the concrete greens into the water (no rough or tall grass to stop it)..

Greens, are fast and then they are not. They really feel like concrete (really hard) and should be fast and sometimes they are and sometimes you scratch your head like WHAT?, I think if you play here enough, you would be fine, but we played 54 holes in 3 days at different courses (so totally different greens, these were def the hardest), I think it rolled fine, and the greens gave you a challenge (even if this is your local course (I would assume))

I hear, that it can get windy (like 15mile per hour winds coming off the Delta). There was very little wind on this day so it was really nice. But I can see it being even more challenging at other times.

OH!! 2 porta-potty on the course so if you can't wait for the turn, you are in luck!! (they seem to be tucked back in there and are not eye sores (sorry didn't use so can't say anything about nose sore). But they are def handy.

Hotdogs at the turn were good (same as the previous place but better steamed). A bit pricey $7,.88 for a dog and chips, throw in a $35 soda for that amount come on!! :) They have a full bar as well, but we quickly ran in for some grub and since we were waiting all day on the 4 walkers that played from the tips ALL DAY!, we had some time.

We finished the round in about 4 hours and if we didn't have the wait we would have done it in 3.5 hours (recommend time is 4 hours and 20 minutes (per the cart plaque).

Good course , It was our 2nd favorite of the 3 courses we played, however I'm guessing it would have been our 3rd, had we actually played Saddle Creek..

Got a Moose special so figured why not.

This course had good reviews and was only 45 minutes away so we booked it and headed over.. It's deep :)it's pretty out there., but check in was easy. Carts are solid (no ice ,but coolers, odd).

Range: well no drivers and the mats are really old. I would say the range is bad, does the trick but no one really wants to start a round with only having played off a mat (bad mojo). So has a range, but it's pretty sparse and no drivers allowed. Free however.

The golf course appears to be well cared for and it was an enjoyable course, some holes you had to lay up and not go for it, a few blind corners, lots of elevation changes. Great water holes(ish). They had a beverage cart, which seems to be a losing trend. Nothing to eat at the turn , just restrooms. Tboxes were clean.

One thing that irritated us, is there were very few markings to tell us if we were at the right hole, no hole markers, nor distance information (other than on the card (BUT)). They do mark the course really well, lots of lil pucks showing yardage throughout the course, that is a plus!!

We enjoyed it and would play there again. Just hope we don't get stuck behind a slow 4some again that had many opportunities to allow us to play through., but I guess they figured allowing 2 other 2 somes through was enough.

But ya neat course... I liked it and playing it the second time, would be a lot less, "where does this hole go and how should I play it " :)

Okay first time visiting and I've got both positive and negative to report.

Friendliness of the folks there A+. No issues, fine people.
Course condition B+ for the most part, Ill get into specifics later.
Location C (there is a reason it failed as a private club I'm sure)
Range F (there is a range and you get free balls, but your hitting into a dirt lot with flags, off really old mats.. IF you golf you know hitting off cheap mats tells you absolutely nothing about how you are actually hitting a ball off a fairway..

Okay more details.

We arrived early, checked in, paid (is it worth the money, I'm not sure it is, but I can't say it's not!).

We were put out behind 2 gentlemen that they allowed to walk, umm check the distance on this course and tell me how that is a good idea?!?!?!?! We waited constantly, which means the ladies behind us were waiting as well. Not only that but it appeared with the 15 practice swings that the walkers were playing multiple balls.. No reason to allow folks with this type of length to walk!! (YES we finished in 4 hours, but it would have been 3:15-3:30 had we not had to wait constantly for them).

The course, it's not a horse track, but not a nice course. It's wide open (but I still seemed to end up behind the trees?!) :) Fairways and greens actually felt pretty good. Sand Traps, since they are not kept up or refilled might as well be abandoned (yes bad).

The water, holy crap, hole 2, has the most rancid smell, I would think the state would shut this place down, seems that it would be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.. Really really "gagging" bad!! Really bad smell. However I didn't experience that sense of dread at any of the other water locations (getting close on hole 11 though).

The turn is actually at hole 10, where there is a shack (we are still not sure if they serve anything). And bathrooms that rated right there with the 2nd hole water.. Seriously, yes men and women are gross in public restrooms, just means you have to put more attention in cleaning up after our terrible species, but really it was bad, horrible.. (no, no feces on the walls, but the stench was outhouse quality, and with something with actual plumbing, that is bad!!)

Carts were good, and other than the wait we enjoyed ourselves (the folks that back to the 18 green were also really helpful, my body luckily didn't take out a window, but I guess he came close to a lady sitting and enjoying the outside (we apologized and they took it in stride (something to the affect of, we live on a golf course).. But still could have been really nasty about it. One of the prettiest holes was 17 (manicured etc) really kind of stuck out very oddly. Not sure what the deal is with that.

No drink cart that we saw and again questionable if you could get a bite at the 10th hole or not. This location def is not attempting to have folks hang around, golf and get out. I would think having folks buying drinks, snacks, grabbing a bite would boost it's profitability, but who knows. Not mine to say.

If you are in the area and they have a special, probably worth it. Bring nose plugs for hole 2 and enjoy bringing the big dog out 75% of the time!!
