Desert Mirage Golf Course

We had a good outing.. This was the only course available for this time. Simple and fun.
Sundance Golf Club

Sundance is a nice course to spend 4 hours on a beautiful day. But on this day we were on pace to finish 18 holes in over 5 hours. Not acceptable. There was no ranger controlling the pace ahead of us. There was no beverage cart to be seen. After the 10th hole we called the pro shop to complain. They sent out the ranger to address our concern. He agreed that the pace at which we were playing would end up being close to 5 hours. We were told they would refund our fees if we left the course at that time. We decided to stop playing and get the refund. So it turned out that there was a group 3 holes ahead of us that were a hole and a half behind. Maybe the ranger should be monitoring the course more often. Crossing my fingers there is no dispute over our refund. I like Sundance, but the snowbirds own the course from October through May. Oh well, summer can’t get here soon enough.

The fairways and greens were in good condition. but the rest of the course wasn't. It looked like the grounds keepers didn't bother mowing anything outside of the fairways. Even the tee boxes were unkept.
Orange Tree Golf & Conference Resort

I was not very impressed with all the dead areas of grass on the fairway. Most of the greens were acceptable but again not in great shape. My expectations were of lush fairways and nice and even greens. I'll be back in the fall to play again. Hope the course is in better shape.
Good morning. Thank you for your comments. It sounds like you have played courses in AZ in the summer time. We than you for your patience. We did aerate our greens, and as you know, it is a process. Our greens are now in great shape. The transition process of Bermuda grass coming in is not a pretty site, but with additional patience, you will notice a significant difference in our course. We thank you again and invite you back in the fall, after overseed and see how well the playing conditions are.
Grand Canyon University Golf Course
Played On 06/04/2023I've been playing this course for over 30 years. It's come a long way from being just another municipal track . that being said, it is not a championship course. You have to keep up on the "house cleaning'. The sand bunkers could use some sand. Overall, we had a great time, and that's what it's all about.

Real simple, no beverage cart on the back nine! The Course was in good shape except for the fringes around the greens.
