Atlantic National Golf Club
Played On 07/02/2015Great New Digs!
Just finished a great round on this very nice track. This is my first time back here since it was previously known as Grand Lacuna. Back then this was absolutely the worst course in the Palm Beaches. The new owners have turned this course into a wonderful, well maintained and friendly staffed property. Tee boxes are good... Fairways well manicured... Greens neat, clean and run true. The improvements here are nothing less than amazing. Of course you will have some bugs hanging around, but THIS IS FLORIDA FOLKS! The club house is new and fresh, good food and great staff. Kudos to the new owners and be assured, I will be returning often.
Heron Bay Golf Course
Played On 04/05/2015Crazy Sand
With over 100 sand traps on the course, this is as close as you will come to playing golf on the beach. I ended up in the traps 3 times but I was shooting a very accurate game. My partner went in 15 times. Prepare to use your sand wedge often!
As for the condition, it seemed pretty dry on the fairways, sandy and substantial until led divots. The greens were all quite rough and the ball bounced a lot when putting. They definitely need to take some care of the course before I will play on here again.
Polo Trace
Played On 08/10/2014Challenging course... HOT day!
This is a very well laid out, high quality golf experience. Fast greens, long par fours when from the back tees, quite a bit of water. A challenging course which was made harder by the 109' heat index on the day I played. Great price offered through Golfnow enticed me to take a shot at this recommended course.
West at Inverrary Country Club
Played On 2/20/2013Nice course... Check in is nonsense!
After having played this nice course at least a dozen times, I was surprised that during this trip a new check in policy has been instituted that is annoying and unnecessary. I arrived about an hour early and went to the pro shop to check in for myself and my partner on a PRE-PAID 2pm reservation. The employee behind the counter told me that I would not be able to check in until sometime between 1:30 and 1:45. I left and ate lunch and returned at 1:35 planning to grab some range balls and check in. This time I I was told that I would have to wait until 1:45 to check in. I was a bit p'd off at that point so I told the counter boy that I would stand there and wait the 9 or 10 minutes and to cancel the range balls. He laughed and said whatever. You know... I bet the starter can read the tee times on the slips and keep them straight. If not... get a new starter. Delaying check in is counterproductive and a bad customer service policy. With so many courses available I hope this bad attitude improves. I won't be back this season.
Pines at Woodmont Country Club
Played On 1/31/2013Well worth the money
Great conditions, fairways clean, green and sometimes mean if you don't stay on target. Errant shots may get sucked right into the water! Greens are very challenging with multi-level layouts and the pin is quite often a t it's most challenging placement. I have played this track a dozen times and it is always fun. I will be back there soon.
Delray Beach Golf Club
Played On 11/21/2012Third trip here... I'll be back!
Clean, well maintained. Some challenging holes and pleasant staff assures a great day out. Experienced no long waits. Good food in the restaurant. All adds up to a great reason to return... I will!
Country Club of Coral Springs
Played On 11/14/2012Very Nice Since the Makeover
Well kept course, moderately fast greens, my twosome got stuck behind 3 foursomes so as two singles caught up to us, we ended up a foursome. Made the day much longer than what I had hoped for. Only other negative is that the course is not well marked so there was a lot of guessing on distances. I would suggest more markers, supplying GPS units or bring your own.
Park Ridge Golf Course
Played On 9/22/2012Unique S. Florida Golf Experience
Hills, valleys and vistas... Not in south Florida? Only here at the remake of the landfill. Occasional whiff of foul air even after all these years does not stop me from enjoying this unique golf course. Moderately challenging holes and a few blind drives keeps it interesting. I would recommend this for moderately skilled to beginners. Advanced golfers may enjoy the unusual landscape but will not be challenged. I'll be back!
The Preserve at Ironhorse
Played On 8/2/2012Maybe one of the best in the county
Clean, sharp, totally well maintained. Fast greens unless wet. If you can buy a spot on this course for less than $30 you should jump on it! Well worth the money. I will play this every chance I get.
