Orangeville Golf Club
Played On 07/05/2020Track for Beginners and Seniors
It's an ok track - not worth more than $50 all in. The greens were inconsistent and burnt on many holes; fairways like concrete. Top that off with rude and condescending language used by the pro shop attendant and it's the only time I'll be playing there.
Wildwinds Golf Links
Played On 06/10/2020BraeBen Golf Course - Championship
Played On 10/21/2015Good City Course
The course was in great shape, and given the time of year and time of day was sparse in terms of players on-course. A challenging links style layout that tests shotmaking and provides an opportunity to score a low round if kept away from the rough.
Hidden Lake Golf Club - Old Course
Played On 08/29/2014Decent Set-up But Judge Value for Money
The course has a feeling of pitch & putt mixed with traditionally tougher holes in particular when there is 50 yards between some of the Blue & White Tees. The course requires more maintenance and greens more care as they are not in prime condition. I played this course only because of the value deal from Golf Now otherwise would not play it for the rack rate.
Lakeview Golf Course
Played On 08/01/2014Tough Course
...but the greens were terrible and inconsistently cut. No cart / beverage service. No marshall. Bunkers need to overturned. Good location but not worth more than $45 - $50 with cart all in.
Millcroft Golf Club
Played On 06/29/2014Challenging yet Fun
With thanks to the pro-shop attendee I was able to get started on my round sooner as I arrived well ahead of my tee time. The course is challenging requiring more precise shots than expected yet rewarding if played right. There need to be more marshalls and certainly with groups of 4 that take longer than appropriate to complete the holes. I can only imagine how much longer my round would have been if I wasn't a single and able to get by slower groups. I would definitely play this course again at the price I paid.
Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Masters
Played On 11/10/2013Usually Great But Not This Time
I enjoy playing Lionhead - have done so about a handful of times - however, from the disorganized approach with the supposed starter to the state of the tee boxes, I was disappointed. I would strongly recommend that the staff assess their approach, in particular, leading up to a long weekend & specially in the fall when the accumulation of leaves makes finding the ball difficult if the shot misses the fairway. The course overall is still challenging and I may come back just because of a Golf Now deal.
Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Legends
Played On 8/14/2013Challenging yet Enjoyable...
While I'm not sure it's amongst the toughest tests (I played from the Blue Tees), it's a challenging layout with quite a few holes that are pleasing to the eye. Given that I've played it for the first time, I would rank this higher in enjoyability and challenge than the Masters Course at Lionhead. With the right kind of deal, I will definitely play this course again.
Dragon's Fire Golf Club
Played On 7/12/2013Challenging Course...bring your "A" game
Great course, well worth the reputation and not for the very high handicapper. From the staff member who took the bag from my car to the starter to the concession folks, the professionalism & desire to help was terrific; although the cost of food is a big high.
I will certainly come back; keep up the good work.
Riverbend Golf and Country Club - Regulation
Played On 6/22/2013A course in much need of attention...
Calling this location a country club is likely calling a big mac a filet minon. The cost of the course and the cart is both over priced and the quality provided is more closer to playing in a rice paddy. Safe to say the owner is looking via Golfnow to attract as much $ without putting any of it towards maintenance.
Very disappointed.
Indian Wells Golf Club
Played On 6/19/2013Great location; excellent challenge
The reviews are bang-on; keep it in the fairway otherwise you're in trouble. Challenging even from the White Tees, its a playable course but bring your A game.
Lowville Golf Club
Played On 6/7/2013Nice course, nice views...
I play Lowville at least once a year and enjoy the moderate challenge offered by the layout. I would offer that the course needs to look at maintaining the greens, in particular after the conditions southern ontario has had; no point having "rookie" golfers ruin a good course. Thanks to the closing staff member for accommodating my request for a towel & using the showers. I look forward to playing this course again.
Granite Ridge Golf Club - Cobalt
Played On 5/14/2013Good course; always good service
I have always enjoyed playing at Granite Ridge. The staff is great; the course is challenging enough to be fun. The rough is thick so keep it in the fairway!
