Cross Creek Country Club
Played On 09/26/2020If closer, would play daily!
What a carved out course! Not a long course but you must be accurate off the tee. Greens rolled true. The streams that cross the holes add so much to the atmosphere! At one point 16th green you drive through a creek. This course is a nice track, well maintained, will come back.
Oak Valley Golf Club
Played On 08/25/2019Was a treat.
Always a great day.
Greens had been punched but needed.
Everywhere else was wonderful.
Springfield Golf Club
Played On 12/13/2018Great value+great staff=Great experience!
The course was wet. That could not be avoided as just 30mins north still had snow on the ground. From the moment I popped my trunk a ranger (Larry)was there to offer me a cart. He took the time to show me around the grounds and show me where to go for the pro shop. This place is class. I drove over an hour to spend a day of my vacation at this course and I'm glad I did. The layout is tough from the white tees but fair. The greens were true to the roll. ALL southern courses should abandon bent and go Bermuda! Springfield keep up the good work!
Twin Oaks Golf Club
Played On 05/06/2018A scoring track!
If you hit the ball well you can really put a score on this course. Not long many holes very straight forward. Greens not very receptive so play it short and bounce it to the hole. Can't have enough spin.. Bermuda greens have not grown in yet... Greens were the biggest opportunity. Not very true and do not look that good. Not a bad track for the money.
The 500 Club
Played On 10/18/2017Best 17 holes in area for the buck!
Conditions were perfect! If you hit it where it's supposed to be u can score. Greens roll smooth and will accept a well played shot. The rough will swallow the ball. But you can hit from it. Can't wait till 10 reopens and we can see the course back to normal. Best value in golf...period.
Oak Hollow Golf Course
Played On 08/22/2017Pete dye for a great rate.
What views. Great value. Great conditions. I have visited this course several times in the last 25 years. Minus one hole under construction it was in wonderful shape. Greens were true even though they are overplayed. The fairways are like carpet. Hit it in the right spots score ,if you don't prepare to struggle. Will return soon. What a great place to spend 4hours.
Silo Run Golf Course
Played On 08/13/2017Self-service golf at its finest!
This is the problem with golf. It is for some reason you run a proshop/course you are better than the people playing your course...The opposite is true. Poor service =NO GOLFERS = No revenue. When someone is a golfnow participant they are traveling to a new course and you want to put your best foot forward. Instead I felt as we were a bother to the staff. There were no carts prepared for play for incoming customers. Carts in the attached shed. The carts were not cleaned and zero direction given for play. If you don't have a starter/cart person to instruct golfers where to go the staff in the shop must!. If this course did not have great greens and is generally one of the best values in nc, I would not go back. I ran a proshop for 4 years. When I was in the business I allowed fivesomes with the understanding that any group that catches you is immediately allowed through if there are open holes ahead. My teenage son that has played since he could walk and I waited on nearly every hole until hole 16. After 5 1/2 hours of hit and wait tournament golf watching a great battle of five champions league players miss three footers all day, they all left the course. My guess is they didn't want us to complain with them in the parking lot. Etiquette please! Playing golf does not make a golfer. Nor does having 18 flags make a course! I hope the staff reads this and improves. Lets make no mistake I love silo run. Thats why im so disappointed. Golf needs good places like this track to stay in business! One more bad experience and I will not visit again. Thank you.
Crown Park Golf Course
Played On 07/04/2016Great Value!
First things first... beware, the GPS will put you in the middle of nowhere on a dead end street.. 5miles from the course.. Now for the review.. awesome! Great value, a must play. Not a long course , but can play long. Played the blues and it was a challenge. A few quirky holes, get a yardage book. The greens were very true to Bermuda grass greens. They were slow but true to the lines. Also juniors play free, call the course for rates. This was the best experience I have had playing myrtle beach area golf. It's about a 30 min drive off of the main strip. Will return to this course again and again! Thanks golfnow!
Winding Creek Golf Club
Played On 06/21/2016They don't appreciate it enough!
The course layout was awkward but the holes were challenging. They criss-cross making for some dangerous driving and dodging incoming drives. All in all if the greens would of been cut the day of play I would say great course. But as it played the greens were slow overplayed and FULL of ball marks. Nothing makes me more frustrated than ball marks. Own it people! If you hit and damage the green, repair it.. the course is not there for just you, but this course had a bigger problem divots, out of the green.. if you have ever done this, do me and the rest of the world a favor... quit the game and get some anger management classes, please. When I told management they seemed like it was normal, and rolled his eyes. All the negative aside I will play it again. It is worth a second round.
Tanglewood Golf Club - Championship Course
Played On 06/14/2016It will be another 15 years!
Well I would say nothing if I could, but....If your course has five to ten bunkers, you must maintain them! The staff could not of been more rude! You do not have that nice of a course! Be happy anyone is paying to play there...no wonder they lost the champions tour event. The conditions of the greens are SLOOOOOOOOOW! Back swings should not be necessary for 5ft putts. No two bunkers were maintained the same. The maintenance crew can sure waist their time driving the gator way too fast during play and weedeating the sides of the cart parts while people try to hit shots. Maybe if they would tell you to rake and place at the pro shop I could of saved about eight strokes. I played the course in its heyday, it's just a shame to see it in such disrepair!
The Revival Golf Club at the Crescent
Played On 04/05/2016A value for the money in Rowan County
First the course is a challenge. If you hit it out of the fairway expect to lose a ball. That said, the greens rolled well even with some bare spots. The ownership has changed! The people are friendly and understand that they must win back the customer. I have not played this course in over five years as i had heard it was terrible.... Not now. The bunkers are not repaired, but keep in mind most of the other courses in the area have no bunkers to maintain. This was never an easy course, great layout, but if you cant hit it move forward a tee box. Too many "players" in the area think that because they shoot in the 80s at mac or corbin that they should here too, nope, tougher course. You can not beat a hot deal on this course. Ten bucks is a steal. Play it before everyone else realizes 25$ everywhere else isn't worth it. Overall, enjoyed it will be back to see the progress. Gook luck team Cresent many are watching:)
Thank you for playing. We do have plans to address the bunkers. Come back and see us soon.
McCanless Golf Club
Played On 06/26/2015Short track fun to play.
For a short course it had some teeth. Some narrow fairways that due to lack of rain are hard to hold the course plays hard. Enjoyed scoring on the short holes. VERY good course for older or beginning golfers not a lot of forced carries only two . Great fun will b back.
Pudding Ridge Golf Club
Played On 06/14/2015Great conditions at a great value.!
If you are looking for a great course to spend some time on, go here. The course has always been a great track. A few of the holes are under construction so there are a few modified holes but other than that well worth the money. Tees are well used from the whites but if you can hit it 250 play the blues and enjoy the challenge. Crew in the proshop and the grounds crew made us feel at home.
Oak Valley Golf Club
Played On 7/7/2013Always great
Course is very challenging. Great design. Water on the course for those that walk! Great experience. Will return often.
Asheboro Country Club
Played On 6/15/2013Great layout. First three holes are a great warm up. The rest of the course plays tight from the tips. Greens rolled great. Last five holes tough.
Had a great time with my whole family. Only one hole was a bit unfair for a junior golfer. Overall a great day was had by all. Great course to challenge even the best ball strikers. Will return. Must play it once to be able to know where to score from.
We're so pleased that you had such a great experience with us, Jay! We certainly hope you'll make the drive to come and see us next time you're in town.
