Southern Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/13/2020Very good condition
have played this course many times over the last ten years-a 1906 Donald Ross design. Not an easy course. Conditions right now are as good as they have been in this time. Fairways are coming back from not very good and are now very good. Greens were aerated-pro shop compensated us for that. Love this course.

Course was in very good shape; bermuda greens were excellent. Is a fair golf test. Will play it again.
Nags Head Golf Links
Played On 10/02/2017The first words out of the outside staff person's mouth were, "You can play the back nine twice." There was no indication from Golf Now or on the Nags Head web site that nine holes would be closed. To make things worse, when I went into the pro shop to register, I heard the employee tell the group in front of me that that is what you get for signing up through Golf Now! He was rude; he managed to say at least five words to me and at no time did he raise his eyes from his cell phone.
Pace of play was excellent because all of the locals had the word about nine holes being closed. I had three unhappy friends with me that day. We had other options near the Outer Banks but I could get an earlier time at Nags Head. That was the basis for my decision to go to Nags Head. Wild horses, which are present on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, could not drag me back to that course.
Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Grey Fox Course
Played On 08/18/2017OK for the price
Fairways and rough were in pretty good shape; sand traps were more like a beach. Was no real hitting sand; surfaces were hard and rocky.
Greens were mostly in poor shape; greens on the Red Fox course have just been converted to Bermuda; I would guess that these are to follow next summer.
I like the layout; the mix of holes is good; par 3s and 5s are challenging to a 17 handicap player. Lay up and bring your short game.
Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Red Fox Course
Played On 04/22/2017Course conditions were ok; some greens not in good shape. fairways still growing in.
Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Grey Fox Course
Played On 04/13/2017I really enjoyed the course; layout was good. Interesting elevation changes. Holes were a good variety of shapes (doglegs, etc.) and distances.
