Up and down

Let me start by saying there's an asterisk to my claim or not first time playing: this was my 2nd time, the first being my first ever round of golf. Wanted to coma back and tackle the beast that got me hooked! Overall the course was in god shape, the scenic countryside feel of the course is beautiful, though the distance between holes on the back 9 is quite far, sometimes almost a minute Carr ride. The green on 10 was rough and the bunkers felt like packed clay, but the fairways and 1st cut were nice. One of the more challenging courses I've played in the Richmond area, huge potential for difficult lies on steep hills if your aim isn't dead on. Very fun round, I like a challenge so I enjoyed playing some tough lies your won't have the opportunity to experience on many other courses in the area.

Home Field Queenfield

This course is one of the closest to me, living in Mechanicsville, Va. I play this course with my dad and brother regularly (5-6 rounds per year) and it's usually our go-to for a quality round at a decent price. There usually isn't much traffic ahead or behind, and the course layout is fun and challenging for players of almost any skill level. Greens are pretty well kept and the fairways are forgiving, though thick, tall brush hazards force you to really evaluate your club choice on certain holes when deciding to lay up or try to go over them. Overall it's a fun, quiet course to play if you enjoy the serenity of the country over courses with more suburban feels like The Crossings or The Hollows.
